42U is the standard. Each U is 1.75 inches. You do the math.

Connectivity should be your first concern, and how much power comes in the rack. Even then, the pricing is a bit high - we charge 800$ CAD for our full racks, 450$ CAD for 1/2 rack. (About 620$ USD for full rack at todays exchange rate).

They might be throwing in some free bandwidth at that price, or maybe even 30Amps for free.....

Where are you located?

Well then, atleast buy quality in Toronto. 151 is a great building, but you can get much better service then THT. Look at PriorityColo (Myles, the owner, is a great guy and they have a great BGP network). Peer1 also has great pricing in Toronto, check them out. If you want me to get you in contact with Myles, send me a shout on ICQ/E-Mail and I'll put you in contact with him.

If you want to make a serious return on your investment run the HP blade servers. You can get 250 in a rack and they are serious power.

We're in Moncton, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia for our datacenters. Mind you, we do offer systems out of Montreal as well, but none of those are Toronto like you requested :). Check my previous post about getting you in touch with better providers in 151.

Blades are even more powerfull if you have a SAN solution attached to them - we just finished setting up our SAN+Blade systems and are loving it.
