What should I do???

I have a finance/economic degree, but want to get another degree in computer science. However, just got the "OK" from Barry University in Miami when I returned from the AVN and college started last Monday. WTF?

Should I try to attend, since today is the last day to register or look into an ITT Tech type of school?

Billy-HiRise 01-15-2004 11:59 PM

I have a double major and one of the two majors is Comp Sci. It was hard work to get and I rarely use what I learnt now, but it's a great fall back if business ever fails plus I find its the ability to learn quickly that I really valued from the university. If you got the time and want to do it, go for it. ITT based schools give you the training and experiences to be molded for a certain job. A degree trains you for a wider aspect where you can pick a job and you'll adapt to that situation.

What he said.

Consider this: Employers look for someone who is willing to be trained and is adaptable. While ITT shows that you're willing to be trained, it also shows that you're only willing to be trained for one specific job. A degree from an established university shows that you are adaptable and can deal with an assload of bullshit.

Go for the university degree. You might not use it, but it sure the hell won't hurt when it comes time to get a job. If you want to do an apprenticeship/mentoring job, do that WHILE you're in college. Kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. Good luck to you! :)

Get a degree - you're really going to regret it later on in life unless you have some badass experience already under your belt which will negate the requirement for a bachelors or something of the sort at times.

Dont risk it if you dont have enough experience to beat over someone with a bachelors though - go get it. :2 cents:
