I just need a little techno music for a 20 second preview clip I'm making.

anyone know where I can buy music that I can license for this and download it?

far as i know you can sample up to 59 seconds without infringing, this may have changed though

try using some of the software that came with your video editor.. Premiere comes with something as well as final cut if you're on a mac.

yeah, last i knew of it was anything less then 1 minute, which translates into "up to 59 seconds"

Make your own beat with eJay or Reason, or Fruit Loops,
they are very easy to use and ull be proud of ur self in the end!

try frootyloops (sp?) takes couple hours to learn and makes you go "I can't believe those fuckers make money by doing this"

nope. It has to do w/ the number of beats/notes. It's like 7 or 8 notes, something like that but don't quote me on that.

Under US Copyright law, the true test for copyright infringement is not the number of notes sampled, but whether the sample is "substantially similar" to the original work. The other main questions is whether it should qualify as "fair use".
