Actress Jennifer Aniston will receive £324,000 in the settlement of her lawsuit against a photographer who admitted to transmitting unauthorised pictures of the "Friends" star sunbathing topless.
The out-of-court agreement between Aniston, 34, and the photographer, Francois Navarre, came 16 months after she settled a separate lawsuit against the publishers of two magazines that printed the topless shots.
Terms of the earlier deal, reached as the case was about to go to trial in Los Angeles, were not disclosed. A previous settlement was reached with a third magazine.
The pictures were taken in February of 1999 by a paparazzi photographer who scaled an eight-foot wall around Aniston's Malibu home while she was lounging in the backyard wearing only her panties.
The photos, snapped secretly through a high-powered telephoto lens, appeared later that year in the magazines Celebrity Skin, High Society and Celebrity Sleuth.
The pictures also reportedly appeared in several overseas publications, including Italian magazine Eva Tremilla.
The lawsuit against Navarre, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, accused him of invasion of privacy, trespass and misappropriation of Aniston's name and likeness.
As part of the settlement with Navarre, Aniston accepted his claim that he was not the person who climbed the wall of her home and had no role in taking the photos in question, the star's spokesman, Stephen Huvane said.
But Navarre apologised to Aniston for transmitting the photographs to an Italian photo agent, who in turn sold the pictures for publication in Italy.
It is not the first time Aniston has had trouble with unauthorised pictures.
In 1998 newspapers revealed that a picture of her was gracing condom packets in Russia.
The picture had apparently been taken from the cover of 'Rolling Stone' magazine, where Aniston appeared naked, and was completely unauthorised.
