advertising sponsors strategy?
Hey guys,
I been trying a lot of new sponsors (about 10) for the past 2 months and now Im about to take a decision. Just wanted to ask you what you think is best to do: 1- mass promote only 2-3 sponsors that convert best. or 2- promote several different sponsors so that visitors get new banners displayed everyday and so that there is more chances to reach a visitor's taste. Thank you Yang |
I think it's better to have one main sponsor that you can work with... Build a working relationship with that company!
Of course as a sponsor, we are always looking for good affiliates that we can work closely with, to maximize both their and our profits... It helps everyone when we can work together! :) |
the problem with this is that with only 1 sponsor it is pretty hard to promote a specific niche since 1 sponsor usually has no more than 3 sites of that unique niche. So people seeing the same banner everyday will never signup twice :)

anyonelse can give me their advices?
|
I use a lot of sponsors, but only heavily promote a couple. It's good to get your hand in every angle, though.

What happens when that main sponsors starts to produce worse than 1 in 8000 trips to the tour page. I have a handful of sponors doing those kind of numbers and then others that are better. And its not always the same mix every month.
So my advice is to have several. There are a ton of reasons. More variety for your visitors, if one sponor goes south - you've got the others with out a big hit. You develop a working relationship with more than one organization. You're exposed to more selling methods. Plenty of free content and hosted galleries to work with. Important if you're a one man/girl band. Just my opinion. Of course our friends at Epic want ya just to push theirs... It's good for them. I do recomend you include them in your mix. Test their sites to see if any really convert well for your traffic. Note that they're always around to put out fires and promote their program. That counts! |

but the problem is that if you have 20 sponsors then you make less money per pay period on all so that means you have less money coming per month because you have to reach the 100 bucks minimum.
|
my goal was always to make more than $100 each.
Epic will send you a smaller check, so will ccBill accounts. In fact most do I found. I know some require the $100 though, so ya get it a couple of weeks later. |
Go with a few sponsors and to narrow the list of Sponsors just remove ones that signed to Accacia and ya might have just a few left, go with those ones:1orglaugh

Cheap spam shot here
want epic - click here: http://www.epiccash.com/WR_track/WR_...php?UID=NETW48 Epic also has a webmaster refferal program as you can see. |
now if you sign up through the link I gave, forget everything I said and just push Epic.

hehehe!
for me I only have asian sites you know. So it seems like those big sponsors like epic cash convert worst than asian sponsors directly so this is why I try to avoid them. |
Don't have all your eggs in one basket. Besides if you aren't filtering your traffic by niche then you are already not aggressively marketing your traffic.
I don?t know of many cash programs that have a site for every major niche out there. The only two I can think of are ARS and Maxcash. If you only push one program and they give you advice, you won?t be able to compare the advice of any other cash programs. Feel free to ICQ me for help. I like to help my affiliates out. |
All good advice. Without knowing what you are doing fully, it is hard to give any advice. I'd suggest talking to some of the sales reps at various companies from this thread. Many factors come into play, which after talking with you they may be able to point out.
Certainly, using multiple sponsors is wise, as the saying goes (don't put all your eggs in one basket) It is also not bad to work with 1-2 closely, and try to get your traffic earning the most possible. |
