There is no such thing. You could privately talk to some of the big domain owners, but even they won't give you straight answers unless you know them well.

I never had any luck. I tried a couple of "independant" services and they quoted some rediculous amount of money for a mediocre domain.

You mean like a Domain appraisal. There is places that do that. But I dont think there is really any kind of exact formula for it.

A medical supply company might have great interest in certain domains...

afternic.com does domain name valuations.. they do sell domain names as well but only as a broker, thus are independant imho.

Most are gimmicks.
