You didn't have to be so rude.

Napolean 01-14-2004 03:05 PM

you can usually change the subject and get a free therepy session from those people.. fun to talk to =b

course then they change it back to traffic, then just tell em what they wanna hear..

hard to keep conversations going tho cuzz the subject always changes to somethin about sending traffic... ::sigh::, all I want is for someone to listen to me =(

Shok 01-14-2004 03:05 PM

fuck you hooper

that was me looking for some midday cyber love

AOJ Brian 01-14-2004 03:07 PM

sorry crissy... but a new sales rep at orgasm hits us about every month with the exact same pitch and we always reply with the EXACT same response.

it wouldnt be a big deal if we were friends, or if it wasnt so transparent, or if it wasnt the 45th time orgasm had hit me up in a year with a new sales rep.

ask nadine how nice i am. i treated you kindly.

Hooper 01-14-2004 03:19 PM

and you all are a bunch of fucking whiners. :1orglaugh

crissyorgasm 01-14-2004 03:25 PM

Hooper 01-14-2004 03:29 PM

Hey Chrissy, no disrespect to Hooper, but I had the exact same thing happen to me. Face it, in the porn bizz, and in ANY bizz, you'll always get noob's. Gettin all bent out of shape about it is at best ignorant, or at worst, arogant. I don't think Hooper qualifies as either . . . but hey, where was my invite to V-bar?!?!?! (J/K)

I haven't been a it long, but people WILL contact you wanting the same things we ALL want, traffic, publicity, a date . . . errr, wait, that's strictly for Chrissy . . . But the most efficient way goes exactly like you said:

Orgasmcrissy (03:52PM): I'm Christina
Me (03:52PM): let me guess. you work for orgasm crash and yo'ure looking for traffic trades
Orgasmcrissy (03:53PM): yes

Hats off to you for that. You can't always do business with people who you know - your circle of contacts and business would never expand. Can't win with them every day, but as long as you keep at it, you're doing more than most! Congrats on your first GFY! I think mine will be comming shortly after I hit this little submit button . . .

PS: Hooper, have any traffic you'd like to trade with ME, friend?? ;)

oh wow... someone was mean and rude to a noob.... my hero.

What ever happened to "no thanks"? Or did you do it just because you knew you could come here and have people laugh and think you're cool for 3 seconds?

I mean no disrespect, honest.... it just seems kinda petty to me to pull something like that on a person who's just trying to do their job.

Some of you are taking this way too seriously. The first thing you learn, or should learn, in sales, is that people aren't always nice and that a no is just another step closer to a yes. Personally I'd rather someone get it over with quickly if they aren't interested, my time is too valuable to waste on people that won't be doing business with me.

Just my thoughts.

I do agree, but it's still more polite, and professional to say "no thank you." and then be gone.... to say what was said is one thing, to come here right away and post the conversation and try to really hurt the person even more... well, that's just mean.

Doesn't affect how I view the noob... it affects how I view the person who was rude in the first place.

I'm sure. However, when you get the same message week after week after week, it gets old, no?

I keep getting spam for these radio shows from people I've never talked to before. People that have never had the common courtesy to say "hi, how are you today?" What kind of response should I give them? I could say "no, leave me alone", but I'm sure thats considered rude. Though, I consider mass spam extremely rude.

Lesson number .5 in sales. And in boards.

Don't take anything personally.

Jason 01-14-2004 04:10 PM

Speaking for Crissy or for me? True, the noob shouldn't take it personally, that still doesn't affect how I will view the person who was unjustly rude and out to insult the person even further by posting it.

I certainly don't take it personally either, I just like to know who is and who isn't professional in the business, before i do business with them.

Bulldog-Johnnie 01-14-2004 04:14 PM

I think I would have asked for her pic before I shined her...

agree kimmy about the "nice" issue , but is it necessary to post the conversation on GFY , thats kind of embarresting for both ORGASM and Crissy :2 cents:
Maybe hooper will like to do some kind of business with Orgasm in the future

i ABSOLUTELY agree with you MaskedMan... it would be more polite.

However... crissy represents orgasm.. not crissy in that convo.

and i have repetitively told orgasm that a) we dont want to do a traffic trade unless they send us some joins first and b) i dont handle traffic.

so after the 20th orgasm rep hits me up with the same line after finally explaining this to nadine their sales manager a few months ago and having it out with her, i just stop being nice when orgasm reps waste my time. are you all nice when telemarketers repetetively call you on behalf of the same company despite repeated requests to stop calling? ppphhhhtttttt....

and since when isnt it ok to bash noobs? i got my ass kicked when i was a noob and i'm sure i'm not the only one.

if you cant take being pissed on in this biz then you should leave for a more friendly environment... perhaps working as a travel agent handling incoming calls.

That may be a lesson in Sales but not a lesson in life. You get out of life what you put into it and I prefer to build strong respectful relationships.

Oh, and didn't you know that all new sales people in the adult industry are given the same ICQ list?
