Kazaa Question

When looking through search results, I understand how Kazaa gets the info for the "Filename" column, but where does it get the other info like Title, Artist, Type, Category, etc...?

Excellent question as it implies guilt.

Guilty of what? Using Kazaa?

For MP3's I would image all the information gets retrieved from the file's ID3 tag. For video files and software I have no clue.

What I meant was that if the software knew the artist and title than it would know that copyrights were being violated.

I see what you mean. But the software doesn't know the artist or title for sure, it only knows what the creator of that file chose to name the file, and it somehow gets the other info from somewhere, but I'm not totally sure. I think I know, but I'm not sure.

i think its just built into video files like ID3 on mp3 because with windows media player it displays the artist and title too
