Mach3 Turbo

nofx 01-14-2004 08:17 AM

i use a mach 3 turbo, i like it, i have to shave every two days with it.

i've noticed with electric shavers that they dont do as good a job as manually shaving.

mistersoft 01-14-2004 08:18 AM

on a serious note

I think some people can get closer then others, depends on how your hair grown, how thick etc.

Wash face with almost hot water, work in shave cream well (brush is best) and use a razor, mach3 or the 4 blade schick.

sometimes it doesnt pay getting all cut up for a close shave

I might go buy one of these today and try it out since I am out of blades for my mach3. the blades are kinda expensive!

I got the new Braun Self Cleaning Shave-o-matic for x-mas this year and it rules. Shave on the way to the office and on the way home. First time I've owned an electric and I'm 32 but I'll never go back to razor-burn.

THICK hair. I've always had the neck bump razor burn thing all my life. This thing gives the closest shave I've ever had with no burn or bumps or ingrown hair BS.

According to the hairdresser guy on queer eye for the straight guy, use hot water, a moisturizing oil, a good shaving cream worked in with a brush (the brush will get the hairs to stand up better), and shave slowly WITH the grain of the hair.

Everytime he mentions going with the grain of the hair my hubby goes ballistic and starts raving like an idiot, as if the tv can hear him... but then again my hubby has a razor-burned neck with stubble and the dude on QE has stubble-free skin all the time. :)

I seriously have to grow a mini-beard before I can shave. Otherwise I get all kinds of nasty ingrown hairs and shit in the neck region. Nasty.

Although sometimes for work, etc I have to end up shaving twice a week, instead of 3x every 2 weeks. Sure, I look gruffy, but it's better than being all broke out, etc.

The longer your hair is, the better the shave.

I like the Mach 3 Turbo as well.

I used to be the same way. I'd shave once a week whether I needed it or not... I would always get ingrown hairs, etc., and then I found that Wahl came out with an electric razor for sensitive skin. It doesn't shave as close as a blade, but I can shave every day and never get any bumps or ingrown hairs.

I bought one of those for that very reason. I must have really sensitive skin, 'cause it just hacked up all the bumps and stuff, and just 'caused more problems. :(

Dirty F 01-14-2004 10:48 AM

Why would you want to be ultra hairless? Youre a guy dude. A 2 day beard makes a lot of people look better imo.

I bought myself one of those a few days ago,
When the blades run out I won't be buying It again
To be honest I prefer the "Mach 3 Turbo"

IKE 01-14-2004 10:59 AM

I went electric about 2 years ago. Norelco rotary is the best. Braun shield ones suck ass.

chodadog 01-15-2004 10:35 PM

I get a closer shave if i shave in the shower, with the water running against my skin as i shave. No need for any shaving cream, gel, whatever. It's a closer shave with no irritation at all (and i have had terrible problems with shaving irritation for a long time).
