First Post w/server queston
Wanted to say what's up to everyone on my first post and ask a web server question.
I called my ISP and they have an pretty good deal that includes one static IP address with unlimitted bw just different up and down speeds to choose from. Do any of you host your own server at home? and if you do is there any pro's or con's with payed hosting? |
Don't even think about hosting your sites at home, get a reputable host and pay the money for quality. Don't go unlimited transfer, they cap it at really fucked rates, you need to be paying for your transfer, either by the gig or mbps.
Oh yeah and go eat a fuckin dick. :321GFY |

We considered doing it from home, two issues though, one was a T1 required a year's commitment and my situation was unstable (can't do this if you're in an apartment) and two was the costs. It was better to sign up with a host. We're fairly happy with ev1servers.net (formally rackshack) if you want a suggestion.

You would have to be insane to host from home when there are many companies that will take good care of you for only dollars a month.
|
It will definitely be cheaper and less of a hassle to get hosting through someone else instead of bothering to set it up at home. And welcome to GFY :321GFY

I agree hosting at home is not a wise nor cost effective move . . .
