Bush Spending $1.5 Bil To Promote & Train People For Marriage

The Bush administration is planning to spend $1.5 Billion tax dollars to promote marriage and training on how to be married.

Your hard earned tax dollars at work. :BangBang:

Now the Feds are going to be marriage counselors. Wonderful.

Where do they come up with these gimmicks and wasteful programs. . .

I can see it now. $1.5 billion spent on an ad campaign telling you that every good marriage should be based around a man and woman's mutual love for the Lord Jesus.

The Republicans have totally strayed from standing for less government intervention in our personal lives.

I don't think they even realize how badly they're blowing their image with crap like this.

You're ok with spending $80 billion on war but don't think $1 billion for helping people keep their families together is a good investment?? :eek7

You're kidding right?

What the hell does the government know about marriage? Who wants to hear conservative biased info from Washington DC telling them how to be married.

Ever think about the tax dollars that would have been/would be saved had the breakdown of the nuclear family not occurred in the last 4-5 decades?

Problem is the program like this is far too late...

It's like putting a condom on after ejaculating. The damage has already been done.

Well I don't know the specifics of the program, but I can only hope it covers marriage counselling which is not covered by most insurances and most people in this country are not in the same financial position as you and would welcome the opportunity to get some outside help to mend their relationships.

Yeah King George has to be one of the worst ever, government is expanding fast under him and his clones with Cheney as the brain. They are ruining things pretty fast and this is just another example of their bullshit ideas.

Great... porn webmasters supporting their tax dollars going toward the promotion of Christian values and monogamy.

I'm all for pushing morality, but this is a push in the wrong direction.
