Direct NIC

Damn..
Thier support ticket system is almost in real time..

Amazing.. I put in a ticket and 1 minute later its resloved.

Everytime Ive had a problem they've jumped right on it damn fast.

This day in age support just aint what it used to be, but DirectNIC is an exception..

Domain Registars arent a big deal to many, price seems to be the driving force, but ive been with these guys for years now and never a problem..

Boneprone, what address do I send those court side tickets for the NO/Jailblazer game?

:)

fatbaby 01-13-2004 03:25 PM

Price is the least of my concerns with my domains.... stability and support at the key issues.... you could not get me to move my domains from DirectNic for any price....

Fletch XXX 01-13-2004 03:25 PM

Ive bragged about DirectNIC forever, ive been with them for like 5+ years.

No other registrar for me.

NOLA boys biatch, 5 0 fucking 4

:glugglug

sextoyking 01-13-2004 03:26 PM

Steve 01-13-2004 03:28 PM

beemk 01-13-2004 03:30 PM

Id like that!
I think they are coming for a day game in Febuary..
But I had to unload the tickets casue its my wife's birthday.

sextoyking 01-13-2004 05:30 PM

Hi,

Well wish her happy b-day, and I will check the sched later for games.

Grew up in Seattle, so I am a big sonics fan and try and goto all the games when they come here.

Peaches 01-13-2004 05:36 PM

DirectNic is my third and final registrar. As it's been said, you get what you pay for! Plus they all hug really well. :thumbsup

BTW, found out the hard way - be sure and remove the "high" security on a domain you're selling.

PrivateIvy 01-13-2004 06:10 PM

I'm in complete agreement...I have all my domains with DirectNIC -over 3 years now and never had the first problem. Wouldn't switch them for anything!

Daymare 01-13-2004 07:18 PM

Directnic is by far the best.

I have almost 100 domains with them and they simply rock. $15 is still cheap if you compare it to 1998 :)

makefuckingmoney 01-13-2004 07:19 PM

I remember when I started the internet..i told mikeai..he should form a registrar..im glad he listened!

heres to you mike!

If they were $8.95/year, I think they'd be the best registrar there is.

who owns Directnic? is it Ken or?
I'm getting a bulk rate there. but it's still cheaper else where.
also how much are you paying to purchase/renew domains there..
I'm currently looking at actually move away from them because of the accessive spam I get from them all the time regarding renewals that are 3 months way? nagging shit like that is truely painful :winkwink:

webgurl 01-13-2004 10:30 PM

yep i get all my domains from diretnic as well :thumbsup

Vitasoy 01-13-2004 10:37 PM

Are you saying you don't like getting a notice that your domain is about to expire ??

Just wondering, I think it's a great idea that Sigmund has those emails sent out, at least if I lose it it's my fault !

Some people just can't be pleased. :winkwink:

I swear I've registed each of my 400+ domains on a different day and as a result, I get TONS of DirectNic "reminders". I LOVE it! Like you said, if I lose a domain, I can't blame DirectNic.

Then there was the problem of my previous register who changed ALL the contact info to themselves on 3 of my domains and I lost them.

Billy-HiRise 01-15-2004 11:26 PM

Serge it's a little cold for me : )

Mutt 01-15-2004 11:30 PM

you idiot - those aren't spam, they're trying to help you so you don't forget to renew your domain names and then run around crying about it.

I think your alittle off on that statement?
there trying to keep anyone from leaving and bothering the webmaster isn't needed 3 months ahead of time..
also there not dropping there prices $15.00 bucks no one is paying that anymore. I'm getting a bulk rate now with Directnic but know where near hwat I'm getting at '
Daddys'but know where near http://godaddy.com great prices and good service! I'd recomend anyone one to go there..

when you own alot of domains price is one concern?
directnic is fairly good service but nothing to jump at..
there on the bottom of my choices..

Jason 01-16-2004 10:39 AM

Jive never has anything nice to say..

Move along.

Trax 01-16-2004 10:45 AM

who again was it who owned directnic

Mutt 01-16-2004 10:51 AM

Intercosmos owns Directnic. Two of the owners have roots on the Adult Net, MikeAI and Grimm who had a little free host called MajorHost and another one called FSN, Free Sites Network.

ulfie2 01-16-2004 11:26 AM

Jesus, some people are never happy. I moved all my domains from netsol to directnic years ago and never regretted it for a second. Took a year to pry some of them from netsol's cold, dead hands but it was worth it.

As for complaining about getting "spammed" I hardly think being given adequate notice that your domains are expiring is spamming you. Would you prefer they take the you snooze, you loose approach? No, you would be here whining about that as well.

Biggy2 01-16-2004 11:58 AM

anyone still using domainnamesystems.com?

I remember Gord, i think that was his name - used to post a lot on netpond back in the day and everyone was using him.

Still good stuff.
