The GFY search feature is useless
 

I can NEVER get it to work and it's fucking annoying. I always get a "Cannot find server" error.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Limit your search to 2 words.

same here. I think searching for long terms can screw with it a little but it has never failed for me

Yep, pretty unreliable.

you guys claiming never having a problem must not be using the search function.

i do searches EVERYDAY on this board and I get more errors than I do actual results.

i get TONS of them.

the other thing that sucks really bad about it is that when a search fails or whatever you have to wait 30+ seconds to do a search, its getting silly.

love the board but the search function has DEFINTIELY been giving me errors for awhile now.

another crappy aspect of it is it doesnt even work most of the time.

I did a "titles only" search for this url since I know for a fact I started a thread with this url as a title: http://www.bushin30seconds.org doesnt come up when you search.

it does if you search for "donate cause" but not if you look for the url.

Simple search works fine sometimes... complex search "server error" *shrugs shoulders* I was just trying to find something too when I read this thread...nice timing:321GFY

It's the shear volume of posts I would think.

if you get a "cannot find server" message that is your ISP doing that.

ping your isp
and ping google
as in

run
ping google.com

you should get a reply back if the server is up

an error (except the 30 second delay).

this board has 10 times the posts, and more active users than GFY and it works fine

Who says it works fine never uses it. It always times out and too many words will make it go koo koo as well.

search has always worked fine for me, though I havent used it since the layout change, if that somehow affected it

When you search for post by an Username it works . When you put long sentence it<s all messed up
