your take on promoting paysites with Cross-Sells

Nima 01-12-2004 11:23 PM

makefuckingmoney 01-12-2004 11:31 PM

I only promote paysites that are black owned.

Trax 01-12-2004 11:32 PM

when i am paid for it - yes
when i am not that program better converts like SHIT

Hardcore J 01-12-2004 11:33 PM

It depends whether the program is PPS or revshare.

PPS, yes.
Revshares, usually no.

well I am assuming those programs paying 35-45$/signup do cross-sells for sure so if you were to be paid 35-45$/signup would you be ok with it even if you dont get credit for it?

right.. I mean like I said in my previous post it makes sense to have cross-sells when doing per-signup but I wonder if many webmasters wouldn't promote a "$35-45 PER-SIGNUP" program just because they do cross-sells

I never liked the idea of cross sales, its kind of a gray area for me.

In a perfect world a person buys exactly what he wants and having a tiny little box that may go un-noticed that hits em for more $ than they bargained for...
Its kinda sketchy but does not insite "A riot" in me enough to totally be vocal about.

One can hide behind the "Read the manual stupid" before giving a credit card stance but really its just not "cool" to do to someone that has no clue but willing to put his money down on your site.

ONLY if it is PPS. If it is revshare... it BETTER convert AND retain really well for it to be worth webmasters' time.:2 cents:

As long as the cross sells are reasonable then yes. If they are ridiculous and charging people way too much then forget it.

well we would be talking about a 1-3 day trial then converting to something like $25-35 membership to a niche related paysite

bdld 01-13-2004 01:49 AM

i'm not a fan of cross-sales myself, the way some people do it looks a bit shady
