Fucking stupid ARS .. wins Idiot Award
So I go in there tonight to grab some stuff to build exits.
Hmm, it looks like the need an I-9 form. OK, but what did they do with the info I gave them back when I signed up, lose it? It's all standard stuff, name, address, Tax ID. Your account has been placed on hold because we have not received a W9 form. This means that you will not receive payments until we have received a completed and signed W9 form. That's ok too, I can do the form and fax it to them, but they invalidated the entire fucking account until they get the form and I can't even get ad materials? How fucking stupid can a company be? ARS wins the stupid fucking idiot award :) |
I sale W9 forms http://www.juicylinks.com/images/juicy.gif

Dam, if the last 2 sponsors were Epic and Brad Shaw, I guess I'd just quit.
|
Adult Site Traffic - its a W9 and since you recieve money from us the IRS has made SPECIFIC requirements that we have W9's for everyone of our webmasters.
Its a simple form, you print it and fax it and you are all set :) |

haha sweet! |
One more thing, your account still functions fine, but we've been asking for this form for a few weeks now. The IRS wants THAT specific form returned to us, sorry government rules.

I printed the dam thing and faxed it within 5 minutes. THAT's no problem. You need it, I send it. My account is INVALID. I cannot get banners. I could really care if you hold my money until you get my form. I want BANNERS. I'm working on 18 pay sites and hundreds of galleries right now. I don't have a lot of time to waste, really. When I move on to another project, I expect to complete it and move on. I want to exit you from my pay sites. I need materials, lol. I just want to complete that and move on. |
And, yes, I know the difference between a W-9 and the I.N.S. I-9 form, it was a typo
|
dude. chill the fuck out.
government regulations require REAL companies like ARS to process W9 forms. the fucking scammer programs paying out $200/week to their top WMs don't give a shit about em. they requested these fucking forms on Dec 4th of 2003. you're spazzing like a littte bitch, foaming and spitting all over. no shit they didnt unblock your account, its sunday night and they're not sitting there waiting for some fucking idiot to fax over the form. |

Thanks! |

Their rep was just in this thread all on about how the account functions properly, which it does not. I don't check my stats every day, they didn't e-mail me to ask for a form, all I wanted was some ad materials. I didn't say they don't need the form, I said the account is locked and I can't get materials. |

you are #1 ofcaorse, I will take an honorbale 2nd even though there are 2 programs left on the planet lol I love you brad |

There are quite a few programs that deserve this award..

Chris is BI :)

I tell you what i am sick of faxing shit 100x over when if they actually changed the link or what ever on these fax machines or whatever reason it seems to happen to me every fucking site.

I don't think anyone really has a problem with W9; but in my case my printer was down, I had the wrong version of Internet Explorer so acrobat reader would not install and I didn't know anyone who had all the needed tools to download the form. So, I had to get a form mailed to me...just got it yesterday. But not even being able to go to my account and download a new banner or get a linking code was like over kill. I mean if a webmaster really didn't want to do a W9 then they ain't gonna download more banners so it seemed unreasonable to webmasters that knew they were going to get the form in but need to do work right now. Blocking your own promo materials was kind of self-defeating. Anyway, the internal situation that led to the W9 in the first place is the work of bad accounting advice. See I lease you ad space on the websites that I own on a pay per performance basis. I don't actually provide any service for you that is differrent then you buying an ad in a newspaper. If you ran ads in the LA Times and asked them to do a W9 they would tell you to GFY. |

Actually, I think ARS is a strong company, offer a lot and is one of the few companies left who write their own checks that I still trust... I *think*. That's why I want to build exits to them. |
ARS only asked for it and asked for it and emailed all of us and put posts in the webmaster area. What did ya expect. They got your attention. Got mine the same way! I just yelled at someone else I expected to do it for me and on time!!
P1mpdogg, I wouldn't be so quick to push that, "we don't require W9". You could get a call or visit like ARS obviously did. Or it could be there accounting/legal staff are playing it overly safe?? I'm not sure its really required for all your affiliates (I'm not an attorney). Hey do ya require the form from the phone company, your laywer, dentist, Walmart, or your escort???? One more Q, did that poster with 18 hits a day have any conversions? |

That's what I mean. I could give two flips if they need the form, but when I'm on a mission (in this case to build exits) I sorta have a one track mind. Call it OCD, whatever. I just want materials, whenever the form gets there and I get a check, that's fine. |
Every mainstream affiliate program I've ever worked with always required a W9. In fact, I just sent a couple in a few weeks back. This has been going on for years. I never really did understand why adult companies didn't require it.

Dam someone does not like me:-(

Ya know a couple of years ago the IRS realesed a statement that basically said that advice received from and IRS representative may have to be verified. In other words "Some of our employees don't know what the fuck they are talking about". In more other words "Just because we contacted you and told you to do something doesn't mean that we were right". You don't get W9 forms people that do not provided a service that they can take with them when they leave!!!! When I leave ARS they do not own any rights to any of my work, which means the work was not done for them, which means I don't fucking work for them. I'm the fucking newspaper running their ads!!! If I don't like their ads, then I will not run them, on the other hand if I was contracted as a service to run their ads then they could sue me for pulling their banners. DAMN!!! I'm so glad I went to college. |
I cant believe they put accounts on hold from webmasters they did not receive a W9 form from. ARS requires a W9 form, yet all the other major sponsors do not? Lame, I pulled all my ARS links and will be sending that traffic to better sponsors. ARS's sites are nothing special anyway. They are all cookie cutter popup hells.

I suspect this means a 1099 from them. Doubt that they're trying to call us employees, we meet none of the guidlines for that. The govenment is just gonna know how much ARS sent you last year. That assumes it was over $600 (think that's the required reporting line for 1099s). (I'm not an attorney, accountant or tax adviser, but I went to college too. BSEE) |
