US soldiers sent home for beating prisoners of war

Gary Younge in Iowa
Tuesday January 6, 2004

Three American soldiers have been discharged after being found guilty of viciously beating and harassing Iraqi prisoners of war, some of whom were already injured, a US military spokesman said last night.

Imagine if that would have been done to US prisonners....

playa 01-10-2004 03:35 PM

Is this the same US military thought court martialed an army officer for shooting a gun by an Iraqi prisoner?

But i guess using electricity to tortue is OK

Yea, kind of like Bush Sr saying Iraqi soldiers were throwing babies from incubators. Is that the type of propaganda you're referring to?

It happens in all wars. When your buddies, countrymen or families lives depend on the information I see no problem with torturing the bastard to get the info.

That article says the crowd started trhowing explosive devices at the Iraqi police, then goes on to say that the one guy that was killed by British forces had already thrown two grenades and they shot him as he was throwing a third. What would you have had them do? Just stand there and be attacked?

Amazing the short term memory everyone has about the five odd members of the 507th Maintenance Company with bullet wounds to their foreheads on Iraqi television.
