Will Paypal close your account if you do a chargeback?
I had to do a chargeback for a payment I made to a scam artist on gfy. I sent in the paperwork last week and today I receive an email from paypal that says they are working with my credit card company to resolve it, but it also says this:
"PayPal encourages all buyer purchase disputes to be filed and resolved through the PayPal Buyer Complaint process, and reserves the right to terminate or restrict account privileges of buyers who file chargeback complaints without attempting to resolve the complaints through PayPal. " Thing is, I already filed a complaint through their Buyer Compaint Process, and they replied that there was nothing they could do since the transaction was over 3 months old, and that the complaint would be noted on the person's account. So am I going to lose my Paypal account over this scamming piece of shit now too? |
yes

:1orglaugh Seriously though, people must do chargebacks all the time. Is there no way you can do a chargeback without losing your account? I guess I just have to wait and see. I sent them about 4 pounds worth of printed email transcripts for evidence. |
Withdraw all your money before doing a chargeback.
Paypal will close your account for no reason at all, so imagine what happens when they have a reason? |
yes, paypal will kill your account for charging back. they will also kill your account for anything they feel is detrimental totheir bottom line, no matter what it might be.
FUCK paypal. Try something that doesn't kill your account for everything known to mankind. I use Stormpay. Either that, or send a check or Western Union or something of that nature. FUCK PAYPAL. www.paypalsucks.com |
paypal LOVES faxes. tons of it. probably they are short on fax paper, but usually faxing them all proves helps (40+ pages needed).
|
Whatever you do, empty your account straight away. They WILL FUCK YOU. If you charge back, your account will be frozen and you will not be able to ever get at the funds.
Paypal are fucking bastards.:BangBang: |
Do not use paypal. They can freeze your account for whatever reason..
|
If it took you 3 months to realize you were scammed and to go after the money I have no sympathy for you. :2 cents:
|
:1orglaugh 3 months to realize you were scammed :1orglaugh
Honey, the anal lube is empty, did you get fucked in the ass again? |
As said before...paypal will freeze your account for no reason and keep your money... I lost big time ..
Withdrawl all your money asap and then go with someone else..... Paypal sucks:mad: Ivy |
We stopped processing with paypal when they deemed adult sites to be 'unsavory' and stopped processing.
My site was listed over at the Waybackmachine (http://www.archive.org) which means that people could look up my site from 1999 and join up. Which they did, at low, 1999 prices. Some subscriptions came in through the way back machine using paypal and they froze our account. I showed them the archive and they didn't believe me. They have never heard of it. The pages saved were not on my server but they told me to unfreeze my account we would have to modify the pages on archive.org. Archive.org doesn't belong to me!! Basically, they said screw you and kept our money! What an opportunity!! We ourselves were in compliance but because someone else posted archives of our sites, they feel it's ok to hold our money indefinately. If you look up sites over there, you can get lucky and lots of the join pages still work!!! Including lots of people who took paypal when they begged for amateur websites to use them. Hell they even created a 'subscription' function for our sites. They now say, water ran up hill and that does't happen. But one rep to the other has no idea what's going on over there. What was ok with one guy isnt ok with another. All this I say because.... Paypal is a company that will screw you for the wind blowing sideways. I'm not sure if they only screw sellers or if buyers are exempt. I'd just be scared of them for they are bad people. |
A friend of mine bid and won a Sibe Gorman divers helmet on Ebay. The winning bid was £1300 and my friend made the payment, as requested, through paypal using his Visa card.
The seller said it would take up to 5 weeks to arrive, as it was being shipped from Australia to the UK. Well 5 weeks went past and no helmet. The seller refused to answer emails. So my friend called paypal and asked for a refund. The warned him not to charge back on his card, and the very next day froze his account! Well he called Visa, who gave him the money back. So much for Paypal protecting the buyer. It has been said a thousand times on here. Don't leave any money on your Paypal account, and they will shit on you sooner or later. |
I agree 150% PayPal are asswipes and should never ever be used for any reason at all. I hope the Class action against them will bring them down for good as they are rip off artists
Just take a look at http://www.paypalsucks.com To see just a few reported problems :BangBang: :BangBang: :BangBang: |

Not everything can be done in a week, you simple minded jackass. Kinda hard to pay someone a deposit for custom programming/database work and initiate a complaint all in 30 days, right? Wasn't a lot of money anyway, just the principle of the thing, but I figured I might as well try to get it back. Oh, well. Fuck Paypal and fuck thieving programmers. :glugglug |
