It overlays the thumbs then saves them as jpgs. The png is just for the building process

Hey Juicy, is comus working good for you?

Its quite slow for me. It takes more than 4 minutes to crop a fucking thumbnail by hand. Is yours faster?

Hey, you had luck with you license. You've got yours really fast :) I had to wait nearly 2 days. :)

Yeah its really quick. But then again I am using Webair and I got a juicy server.

Its just apain to figure out the script it is toooooooooooo juicyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

SubSonic 01-09-2004 05:34 PM

About your question.

For what do you need this overlay? For the movies?

Comus can add such a overlay itself. Theres an option for it. Just check the "Thumbnail Link Options". There you can add the .png file you want to use as a overlay.

We all know that, you sweet little thing :1orglaugh

Ahm ... Just open up a new document with a transparent background. After you've done the overlay design, go to "save for web" (dunno how its named exactly in the english version). Standard is JPEG. Go to the dropdown and select PNG. There are some ready made options for PNG. Take the one you want. Be sure that the option "keep transparency" (again the problem with the non english version) is checked and save it. That should be all.

Tell me if you have other problems. :)

png doesn't show up in Netscape, I believe. I could be wrong.

NetRodent 01-10-2004 11:35 AM

I did a little digging and most browsers seem to support most of png's features atleast well enough to use as a gif replacement.

The big problem with PNG is that IE doesnt like to allow it to use it's full transparency capabilities. This can be overcome though pretty simply, and then it's a great format to use. Check out a post I made about it here... http://www.webdevforums.com/showthread.php?t=3000
