INTERNEXT- What Happened to the show?

Is it my imagination or did you guys notice the following:

*Several big players didn't exhibit...those that did scaled down
*Fewer big parties
*Smaller attendance (even the lookie loos were less this year)
*Smaller Hall
*less newbies

All in all, I had a great time seeing everyone again and did some good business during the dinners and "O" bar but the show floor just ddin't seem to cut it this year.

What was your take on the whole show? What do you think will happen for Florida?

princess 01-09-2004 02:40 PM

I personally have always liked the FL show.

But I do see what you're saying. I was shocked my first walk around the floor. Except the newbie thing. There were tons of them there.

btw, it was nice seeing you again hon
:winkwink:

True....In fact, it seems like events like yours is where we things may be heading. It definitely feels like you can accomplish more biz at events like the TGP VIP dinner then on the show floor.

The business is consolidating itself. "Less" companies - just the smart (or the dumb) left standing.

We will soon see that there will be a greater divide between the big companies and the ones trying to make it. New ones will always have a good chance, but they need to play their cards right and go with the right technologies and ideas.

Eyeballs is everything in this business! Then there is MPA2 and MAS - without either you are fucked...

:2 cents:

PS. And of course Sexentertain plugins!

Mike, exactly bro

Times are a changing

BradShaw 01-09-2004 03:10 PM

Player Hater Ball was bigger this year than in the past. Atleast the bar tab was.

The smaller get togethers were the ticket, for me anyway. I made a lot of deals in hospitality suites that couldn't have happened at bigger parties. IMHO

That's ture...That was definitely one of the highlights for me this year.

J.R. 01-09-2004 03:13 PM

This show sucked ass!

I will never exhibit there again unless
they move it.

Venetian hotel sucks and their security
is a major pain in the ass.

I have had it with that location.

webair 01-09-2004 03:22 PM

The timing of the show doesnt help either, directly after xmas and newyears...need some downtime in there

Brad Xtremepay 01-09-2004 03:32 PM

Less newbies?
Sure maybe... but more walker-inners.

As in the guys who just walk by the booth and SCOOP up the free shit. Like... "who the hell are you?" kind of people.

NETbilling 01-09-2004 03:36 PM

Hi,

We actually had an excellent show and the attendees seemed to be more qualified than in the recent past. There was certainly less foot traffic and I agree the show should be moved to a new location and a bit later in the month.

Mitch

Pete 01-09-2004 03:37 PM

They all did so much crazy shit theyre scared to admit it.

Heh. Don't you want people scooping up your free shit? It's advertising, right?

I have to agree with you Mitch dear. The show is way to close to the holidays. Later in the month would be soo much better..

I actually think the sands has out grown the show. It's just too big of a place for us now. We're sized down some over the years.

Donny 01-09-2004 04:06 PM

I don't know about you, but I had more fun than I've ever had at prior shows. It was great.

Not if they're just random fucks from the street

I think we should qualify "random fucks from the street" since they did bother to pay $150 minimum to get into the show. I personally wont call it FREE SHIT

:2 cents:

But then again -

Show was great in my mind. Our booth was busy almost constantly and our girls gave out FREE SHIT throughout the show.

Great business!

Still not too happy about the Sands - I liked it back in the days when we were a big bunch of friends at the show when the location was Monte Carlo - THAT was a good time! (ps. hotel is of course not the best, but what a great time!)

bauhaus 01-09-2004 04:24 PM

Well I personally had fun at the show.... did some good biz and met lots of new people as usual. Have to admit that 4hrs on the show floor spread over the 3 days..was more than enough.

But less parties and events...meant more 1 on 1 time with clients/prospects that mattered?

Let's not argue, but let me ask you this. Do you really think that everyone walking around the floor picking up "free shit" was really a webmaster or even associated with the business?

I sure as hell dont think they were. They were just some horny toads (like I am too, of course) wanting porn.

Shit, cant blaim them for that.

$15 for room service of 6 Krsypy Kreme donuts really pisses me off. I say we go back to the monte, I will sponsor sbarro.

BULLSHIT ... porn is recession proofed !!!!!

.... muachahahahahhaahaaaa !!!

Hank_Heartland 01-09-2004 04:45 PM

I think the problem is we are getting tired of Vegas...You can only do so much and it is the same thing over and over...we as an industry need a change of venue for this show:thumbsup

The show was bigger than last year. All the players were here. The convention hall only made it look smaller as it was larger, and higher ceilings. It was all an optical illusion.

funkmaster 01-09-2004 05:04 PM

<img src="http://www.sexy-celebs.net/hotlink/07-minister.jpg">

Porn is recession proofed. many companies were forced to get a small space (booth) or theVenetian would not rent them a hospitality suite.

howard 01-09-2004 05:15 PM

The show floor was smaller but seemed pretty crowded to me.

I personaly made a ton of traffic sales and with a lot of new companies.

My feet are fucking killing me--so I know I worked.

I'm 41 so late nights and strip club parties are getting old to me.

Kudos to No Credit Cards cigar party. All the big boys were there.

My company adultplex along with sexychat, lovercash and the nicest guy in the biz Ron Tan (niteline media) threw a real happening party The Bootie Ball. There was 400 people there. I have been around 6 years and I am not the most social guy in the biz but I didn't know 1 person there. It seemed like it was all newbies. But if they sign up for our affiliate and send traffic it will be will worth it!!! I guess I will let you all know in a month or so!!

howard

howard 01-09-2004 05:20 PM

BTW--to me eating dinner in Vegas is worth the trip alone.

Thanks to pussycah for dinner at Delmonicos which is to me the best steak resturaunt in the world. Bone in Rib Eye steak is to die for and way better than sex.

BTW- I ain't a wine drinker but we had this $800 bottle and it was great.

Also to finish the night we capped her off with 1964 Padrone cigars.

Kudos to YnotBob for making that choice.....

Howard, That's actually a a very fair statement. I guess I didn't think abou that.

But, I'm sure alot of them were also the "pornophiles" or "Cheapskates" looking to populate their wardrobe with shirts and swag. :1orglaugh :2 cents:

Anyway, It was great seeing you again and thanks for the invite to your party...That was way cool.:)

That's cheap...If you ordered those at the resort in Florida in August, it would have run at least 25
