Credit card processing help
 

I wanna sell some adult tangible goods but I dont want to pay no $750 Visa fee because the volume will be low and it won't be worth it. I prefer that the customers wouldnt have to sign up to a website in order to pay(i.e. stormpay, paypal) but any suggestions would be appreciated.

We can take adult tangibles provided there is no other adult content on the same URL. There is a $49 setup fee...after that, you pay on transactions only.

If you live in the usa it will be no problem to get your own merchant account if you are selling real products.

Very slick, just tried out the demo system. I'll be signing up once my new server is ready.

Stormpay, Paypal, ikobo etc... are good as secondary payment methods. However, as a proimary, you need to be able to accpet credit cards. Customer want to whip out their card and pay without having to signup for an account somewhere else. That is a fact.

I think their setup fee is $149 or something these days. No worries about people stealing your money, or ridiculous chargeback ratios. FYI, as far as US IPSPs are concerned, I was told they CANNOT do tangible goods. Maybe this was just Epoch, I know IBill used to have a cart, but I think they iced it.

Get your own merchant account, you'll thank me for it.

You are correct.

Always best to get your own merchant acct when dealing with product sales, either adult products or mainstream products.

You can start cheap and just use oscommerce.com shopping system. great cart, lots of mods for anything you want to do with it, etc.

Using a 3party gateway is ok, but with products, just use a regular gateway, i.e. authorize.net, linkpoint, skipjack, etc.

Of course be tough on fraud with your orders, do avs check, i.e. zip and add match with usa customers and others if possible, cvv2 check, ip checking, etc

We have an account with Cardservice using OScommerce and paid a total of $45 going through Netbilling. No need to contact Cardsrvice directly as they will just send you to an agent who will charge you more. Give Netbilling a ring.

p.s. OScommerce is great, it's free, and they have Netbilling modules as well. Stay away from Authorize.net. They suck.

Nothing wrong with auth.net, we use them on several of our merchant accts.

sure we might pay $15.00 per month with them, and a few cents per transaction, we don't have to pay 1% or whatever the fee it is for a 3rd party gateway.

We sell products and memberships too. We use OScommerce with the free Netbilling plugin. They setup us up with everything. There is no need to go anywhere else. For our mainstream account with Cardserivce, they only charged us $45 going through Netbilling instead of another Cardservice agent.
