WTF is going on? Well I don't care, it's a big spike and I just made a 25% return :thumbsup

That's not even meeting the daily high, but it's the kind of spike that makes me happy to be trading at 12:30 AM. :thumbsup

Didn't the IMF just release figures warning that the US is heading into a shitstorm with huge debt and trade deficits?

Not much, unfortunately I could only bet $40 so I made around $10 on the first bet and I'm around 40% on my second while the yen evens out. If I hit 50% I'm pulling out so that's another $25.

My damn e-gold account is empty and it takes a while to transfer funds. If I'd known this would happen I'd have dumped at least $1k in there.

Yes but there are also news saying the European Central Bank will go out and buy a few US$ to raise it against the Euro cause European companies doing their business in US$ are really suffering because of the weak US$.

Actually looks like my euro/yen bet is going to more than double. Not bad for 1/2 hour or so. :winkwink:

USD/JPY isn't moving all that much right now.

Very scary stuff. They said on the radio (so it *must* be true) that this is the sort of stuff the IMF normally dishes out to dictatorships :(

BTW: Want a stock tip? Check out RDF on the ASX. They will reach over $2 before August. I've got $40K in there and have made a nice profit over the last few weeks.

I heard it on the news too - Bank of Japan had done an "intervention" - buying USD.
