Flying first class...

Do you like to fly first class? Do you really think there's much of a difference between first class and regular?

I always get bumped up to first class for free, but I still don't see the excitement about it. The seats are bigger. I'm short as shit and I sleep on the plane, I really don't care. The meals are better. This is a plus, but worth the pricey ticket?

If I didn't get bumped for free I'd probably never do first class. Not worth the extra money IMO. What makes first class so nice?

Blowjobs by the flight attendants :thumbsup

I fly a lot...and have never seen the value in flying First Class unless it is for free, or very cheap. Perhaps on overseas flights, it might be worth the five grand...but not domestically.

I like the new shell seats airlines are bringing in

like this: http://www.jal.co.jp/en/inflight/int...shellflat.html

now thats fucking tight

Those look pretty fuckin' sweet. Would work great for international flights. Coastal flights would still be a waste to me.

Nice Shell seats.

I don't pay for first class ever, but i normally pay for business class and depending where i'm going sometimes get a bump up to first, but not as much as i used to.

I prefer business class for priority baggage, immagration priority and so forth.

On International First, you get a bed... that's pretty cool.. It's worth the $8-10k. Economy is torture comparatively..

Yeah it's worth it for sure on international flights.

DirtyDanza 01-08-2004 09:58 PM

if the flight is more than 4 hours I fly buisness class... with northwest... if it's less than 4 hours not worth it.... when I fly to memphis which I do about once a week... I go private jet.... much much better than any first class

Mr Pheer 01-08-2004 10:06 PM

the nicest thing about 1st class, is not having to stand in line when checking in at the airport, and getting on the plane first, and off first

the bigger seats and better inflight service is just a small bonus

I usuall spend between tips, drinks and food the 100 or so it would cost me to upgrade.

Plus youre not stuck in the goddamn middle of anyone.

BradShaw 01-08-2004 10:51 PM

I used to always pay full fare, and fly first class. Back in the good ole days when I was fat. Spent $100k+ on tickets in 2001.

These days, I buy the cheapest tickets, and try to upgrade. Sometimes I get stuck in the back, not bad as long as it is less than 3 hour flight. Flew first class home from Vegas today (upgrade) was nice since we did not have to wait in any lines, and had to sit on plane for an extra hour.

BRISK 01-08-2004 10:54 PM

Where do you guys usually try to upgrade? I've always asked when I'm at the check-in counter, but it seems fewer and fewer airlines go for that these days.

damn :glugglug

Depending on the airline it's not that much more in cost. If you fly alot you want to be as comfortable a possible. You do get to board first and leave first.

I upgrade as part of the miles program with AA. You can earn upgrades, as well as buy them. Cost $75 to upgrade home from Vegas. Of course if I was a real player, I would have paid $2200 for a full fare ticket like sleazydream and been guaranteed first class. But then again, I am not quite 400lbs.

Shoehorn! 01-09-2004 12:14 AM

Whenever I fly I am in the air for at least 5 or 6 hours at a time. Like flying back and forth to Hawaii and to Europe, first class is a must. Plus the first class on the new planes fucking rock. The ice cream is good too.

AndrewKanuck 01-09-2004 12:18 AM

We usually go with Business Class - we also have "Eleet Membership" cards for certain airlines that gets us free upgrades to 1st class if available. I like the peace and quiet you can have in Business/1st class as opposed to Coach; especially if you're talking about a long flight to England or coast to coast. I suppose a 45 minute flight I could do coach, but anything over that, I'd personally want the peace and quiet of business/1st class to do some work/reading/sleeping.

tayloryum 01-09-2004 12:24 AM

if you're flying cross-country or overseas, it's worth it, otherwise, not really a big deal.

- AFN - 01-09-2004 04:34 AM

lucky you for you got the first class, i never had experience it

I do the exact same thing. :thumbsup

The upgrade to fly first class Vegas to Toronto was only $100.
