using whois to contact a domain owner
Is there anything against contacting someone who owns a domain?
I've been interested in a domain and emails are really slow with the guy. He checks mail once every few days and I have questions that never really get answered via email. Would you ever call someone using whois if you really wanted to buy the domain? (This guy is looking to sell it.) |

Call? -HELL YES! |
Just call at a "normal" time of day depending on his yime zone and you shouldn't have a problem.

Email yes, calls no. Ask via email if you can call first. I'd just hang up on you, I hate the telephone (and the people at the other end of it).

I've called people based on whois info (to find out about buying mainstream domains), but I would be surprised if anyone who owns an adult site has their real info in there.
Especially now that Alexa is publishing it... |
