long time tim burton fans: how was big fish?
 

how does it compare to is older stuff? was thinking of going to see it tonight or tomorrow, but after planet of the apes i'm a little burton gunshy.

much less of a sell out than planet of the apes, it's more true to his style.

Tim Burton definitely got more commercial in Planet of The Apes. Going commercial is not per se the kiss of death to a cinematic artist as long as its done right. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case with Planet of the Apes.

Hopefully, he doesn't degenerate as bad as Penelope Spheris.

Great flick...on par with Ed Wood and Edward Scissorhands...

i assume much of the visuals were amazing to look at as well?

at least he has more offers for a film

While it had the Burton trademark of cool production design, this one had more substance over style.
