MPA2 Vs. Monolith v2.0

I'm in the market for this type of program and have just started my research. We all know that MPA is a great piece of software. I've known about Monolith for a while now, and it looks like it will be available pretty soon...even before I'll need to implement.

Has anyone here had any experience with both of these? I know a few programs are testing the Monolith package...did any of you switch from MPA2?

From the looks of things, just from browsing both info sites, Monolith seems to offer more at a lesser price. Including the complete CMS system, which Mansion does not offer as part of MPA2...it's an additional purchase.

I'll be setting up one of these two in the next 60 days...who wants to help me make the decision as to which one?

Just make sure you dont have shaving abilities implemented in the software, no one will promote you're paysite if you use a software with shaving capabilities :2 cents: MPA2 as shave option.. not good:(

There are quite a few programs using MPA2 right now, and from the looks of things...they're not having trouble getting people to promote them.

Their is allot of webmasters that stopped promoting sites that have the MPA2 software, just read the threads about them, you will see.

Here we go again. ANY software could have a shaving function. When will you people realize this. MPA2 is nothing different than other software.

I know BAT, but this needs to be changed & we all know that. Like I said before CCBILL, IBILL, EPOCH should not allow for webmasters to use affiliate software that as the shave option... Its freakin stealing. OK, I would understand a little shaving to cover some cost but c'mon some webby's over fuckin do it becasue they are to fuckin to greedy & scumbags.

Exactly...now that this has been pointed out we can get on to the meat and potatoes of both these programs.

So you're cool with a little stealing, but not a lot? This shaving "epidemic" can hardly be blamed on the software.

As I read back and forth about the two products, I lean a bit more towards Monolith. The "all in one" package is what grabs my attention the most.

I think booth are good products.

And shaving is the "decision" of program owners not the software. Either "canned" or custom, all software can shave if that's the intention.

Anyway, back to your question. I'll try to summarize what I know:

* I think booth are bit overpriced.
* Monolith seems to offer more for now.
* MPA2 should have a new version released anytime by now. I'm not sure if it'll be delayed more but it'll be wise to check out new features, expected release date and pricing (if that'll be changed with new version) and compare that with Monolith
* Monolith lease has 5 site limitation vs unlimited on MPA2
* Monolith has fixed monthly price vs MP2 monthly price will scale up with your sign-up's.
* MPA2 pays for processor VISA fees if you need that
* You can get source code of Monolith to fix some stuff your self but that's not an option for MPA2 (not sure if that's true for purchased version of MPA2, booth will be protected when leased)

I hope that helps :thumbsup

I wasn't aware of a new MPA in the works. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled or maybe hit up Oystein for some info.

Monolith can be used on unlimited domains if you purchase the complete package and pay a small one time fee of $199 to activate the unlimited site capabilities.

Now to lease or buy? Do either programs offer leasing customers a discount or package deal on upgrading to the full package?

Any more opinions?

Gateway69 01-08-2004 03:58 PM

MPA2 was the only choice for me. I looked at other programs and asked around and I heard nothing but good things about MPA2.

And you can't beat Mansion's support. They're so fast to answer questions and they're an absolute pleasure to work with.

Support is important. Monolith is still in beta, so getting insite from folks using it has been tough.

Right now it's in the lead, only because it's a "total package" whereas Mansion you need MPA and their CMS. Well...maybe not everyone needs them both, but I will.

Just contact us to get a special price on both the programs :)

We will make a package price on MAS and Mpa2 once we release the V3 of the mpa2 program. Should be in like 2-3 weeks now. And stay tuned because we will blow everyones mind out with all the great new features we have added.

Just be sure that you choose a company that have great support. Because if your program doesnt work, and trust me one of the processors will change their back end every once and a while, then its good to know that you always have a team of programmers ready to help you !

Troels 01-11-2004 05:22 PM

It's a good thing that mpa2 is being used by so many programs, because any possible minor bugs will be fixed very fast. Same can be said about feature development.

I haven't seen any complaints from current mpa2 users?

Ok Garry, you can climb up from under my desk now.

fletcher 01-11-2004 05:23 PM

Thanks for the kind words in this thread everyone. I think MPA2 is a great product and done very well for a lot of people I know. I wanted to create something all inclusive based on a year of actual use as a paysite backend - encompassing all aspects of site, affiliate, and content management.

I am looking to have a live demo site up sometime soon. When we go live, we will have full email along with 800-number support available 24 hours a day.

BrettJ 01-11-2004 05:53 PM

i looked at both and ended up buying monolith a couple weeks ago. I was impressed with the extra bells and whistles that Monolith currently has.

I was impressed that MPA2 would do the visa fee, but I had already covered that.

But I'm quite sure we will always have a tour that is 100% ccbill link codes, for those people that want to continue to use merged accounts or just prefer promoting through a CCBill link

BluMedia 01-11-2004 10:59 PM

You can have an awesome product like the MPA2 but you also need good tech support. MPA2 guys are awesome, anytime there is a problem or question they are always there. I think support is very very important especially when dealing with software that is handling all your signups, tracking affiliates sales etc. I have never done business with a company with such an awesome product and also with excellent tech support. I have nothing but good things to say about the MPA2 product, the team and the tech support.
