Why do some sponsors won't allow checks to be send out to P.O box address?
 

I move alot so i thought it might be a good idea to get myself a P.O box so I don't have to keep switching address and hunting down my cheques. I just try to signup with ARS and I got this message.

We are sorry, but your ARS application has been denied. The reason for your denial are: Sorry for the denial but we are not able to have a P.O Box outside the U.S. Please provide us with a valid street address.


Anyone know why some sponsor is doing this?

Because scammers usually live in P.O. boxes

Maybe they think:
PO Box = you got something to hide = you're a cheater

If that were the case , they could ask for phone verification or something.

Some places ( even in the usa ) dont have door to door mail delivery. i.e. the only way you get mail is through a po box.

there other alternatives than PO BOX,

Po box sucks because they won't accept third party shippers

here in small town canada, there is no door to door delivery, all we have are PO boxes. i've never ran into a problem with a sponsor, but i never tried to signup to ars. i guess if i did i'd have to have them sent to my parents out in the country or something.

Solution: Open a mailboxes etc po box... yeah they're like 3x as much, but they'll accept packages for you, and you can use the address 123 Main St. (or whatever the address) Apt #14, Ste#14 or whatever...just a thought.

You can receive payouts by wires.

simple solution,,

just write the street address of the post office and then suite# or Room# or BOX#

besides,,,all you really need to get that mail delivered is the zip code with the box number at the end. 90210-1234

If that's the case then why would they only allow webmaster from the states to use P.O box? Surely they can't think that only Canadian webmaster are scammers, we are like one of the nicest people in the world.

I use a P.O. box & I live like 2 minutes from it. I have nothing to hide, the reason why I have a P.O. box? I dont want no one to know my home address, its my home & I want to be free. I dont know one to share my home info with others. I also need a P.O. box becasue all the checks I am getting don't fit in my mailbox at home:)

Yes it does,,,as long as no one else in that zip code has the same last 4 digits
