That was odd...anybody awake in Phoenix/Scottsdale?
That was very strange...just lost TV cable, cable Internet and phone for about 10 minutes. I wouldn't be terribly concerned, except we just changed phone service so I don't think the three are under the same provider any more.
Neo? Is that you? LAY OFF THE E.M.P.! Oh well, probably nothing...but not the thing you want to have happen at 5:00 am during a bout of insomnia. |
We are in North Phoenix and haven't had any cable problems...YET.
|
You on Cox? (That was not a personal question.)
'Bout freaked me out...I don't know how many people here grew up during the Cold War (okay, I could hazard a guess - 6?) but having all forms of communication go out at once does NOT make me a happy bunny... |
Yes we are on Cox and are used to them going tits up during the middle of the night (lots of construction going on here). It really has gotten a lot better though.
We ditched our land line since we were getting royally screwed by Qwest. Decided to try going all wireless and almost a year later we aren't looking to get the land line turned back on. Were your cell phones out too? |
Didn't check the cell phones. By the time I'd determined TV, 'net and land lines were all down, things were coming back on.
Cox does have a nasty habit of dropping off in the middle of the night (in other words, any time between midnight and six am) but I've never seen TV and computer go at the same time. That aside...you know what, now that you mention it, I think maybe we just switched FROM Qwest to Cox for the land line...that would make a bit more sense. I find it hard to believe I once went two years with no television...at a time before the 'net and common use of cell phones...what did I DO with my time? Oh yeah. Drugs and clubbing, mostly. *sigh* I guess this is better... |

I still go out clubbing. Its probably a good thing they shut this town down early cause I'm sure my liver couldn't handle the abuse I put it through when I was in my 20's. |
You really don't miss it if you don't have it, do you. Now I'm kind of a junkie. (TV, that is.)
Where in Europe? That was one of the teen/young-adult dreams I never got to fulfill, maybe for the better. I don't get out at all any more. It's kind of sad...but it's probably just a phase. I tend to go three years on/three years off with the clubbing scene. This would be year 3 of off...so trouble's ahead... :Graucho This place is WEIRD though, isn't it? I can buy booze anywhere until 1:00 am, then I can't buy it at all. I'm from Oklahoma via Kansas, and even there the bars don't close until 2...but then again, you also can't even buy beer on Sunday... |
no problems here.. no landline here either :thumbsup

Here its seems like there is something different to do just about every weekend. So it hard to stay in all the time. I was in Kentucky for 4 months. They have "dry" counties where you can't even buy alcohol. It kind of explained why everyone owned a gun there! |
