TGP OWNERS: Do you allow dynamic galleries?

If I submitted galleries like this:

www.mydomain.com/niche.php?recip=123&set=123

Would you accept them?

If so...can I get a partner account?

If not...why not?

grumpy 01-07-2004 11:35 AM

link a working url :-)

I would but would like to see them first

DaLord 01-07-2004 11:36 AM

No not a chance...

The above is only an example. The reasoning being an easier creation of a large cache of galleries.

Assuming all the rules were followed and the gallery was top notch.

I don't want to follow through with a project that's doomed from the get go.

Anyone else?

I too would like to use SSI in my galleries, but don't since to many tgps reject dynamic sites. I can understand this since it would make it easier to edit them without detection.

The big tgps think surfers are scared of dynamic pages, the little tgps do not know what dynamic is :Graucho

People that use UCJ or almost any other trade script to manage traffic cannot list that URL. It will see the variables as being part of the script and they will not get passed and all traffic will end up going directly to niche.php.

You would be better off setting up mod_rewrite and making the URLs look like

www.mydomain.com/niche/123/123/

Not the best idea for galleries though unless you have a heavy duty server :)

That's pretty much a trust issue. I know people who use stuff like php adsnew to dynamically serve ads on their galleries.

Are there any tgp owners that would allow partners to submit galleries this way?

If you can get listed like that at all.. something like

www.mydomain.com/niche.php?123:123

would work with UCJ and most other scripts...

alan-l 01-07-2004 11:53 AM

maybe if you work with known webmasters, otherwise there's too much room for cheating. Remember like 3 years ago those fucking russkies submitting dynamic galleries. That's why all TGP now reject them.

And the UCJ thing is like the last nail in the coffin :)

-=HOAX=- 01-07-2004 11:56 AM

Well when I was submitting many moons ago...my galleries were always on point...and I have a few partner accounts gathering dust.

THe reasoning is to have all the backlinks pointing to niche.php rather than spread across an assload of galleries.

grumpy 01-07-2004 11:58 AM

Why not make a deal with a few webmasters and see what the results are. If the galleries are ok and you follow the rules i would have no problem with placing them. If you wanna do something just icq me.

hmmm,
I doubt if "they" can detect if your site is dynamic.

the easiest (and as far as I'm concerned the only way, but not sure if their are headers that contain related info) to check if a page is dynamic is to check the extention: .php, .shtml, etc.

It's possible though to let a server parse .html as php page as well.

So as long as the html isn't changing, I think you can slip in some dynamic pages past the most tgp scripts.

I have a couple hidden things in some galleries... it's not to cheat but to maximize the CTR, don't ask :)

I don't know enough about the technology and their scripts to feel safe doing this. Takes too long to get partner accounts. I have developed a new technique (found some software to help) that allows me to build galleries faster, so this is less an issue today.

Again my goal is not to ease the time involved creating galleries. Its to funnel backlinks to a single page.

The time saved is only a by product. The issue becomes making the galleries work with various trade scripts.
