Paysite basics... how important is a short domain name for a paysite?

How important is it to have a short memorable domain name for a paysite if at all?

not at all. they are not going to get there becuase they were talking about your site at dinner....most people will get there from a gallery of SE.

Most paysites get the visitors from affliates. I think you can easy link to abc.com and easy link to afadfsgagwetsgfgag.com

i think it is good if you wish to brand a site.

Easier for people to remember shorter names.

as the guy above me said...it always helps to have someting catchy

short domains are great to have first for the resale value, which is considerable. Once the bubble popped they hold their value very well and I suspect may actually be undervalued right now, hence my constant quest to buy more.

strictly as site locations, they're more impressive to your affiliate webmasters than your surfers probably, although I do believe surfers are more likely to sign up for a domain that makes sense and targets their niche exactly. As I said, they're more impressive to your webmasters because if you have adult.com in your site portfolio, for example, prospective affiliate webmasters know you mean business and they can expect a certain level of competency from you. Also, if you can afford premium names it means you can probably afford to pay your webmasters :)

if you have one or two word PREMIUM domains hit me up, I have a sizable budget to work with :Graucho
