spend large amounts of money
do you find it difficult, even if you can afford it? i go crazy second guessing myself on large purchases. pulling my hair out right now.
bah. |
Depends how much you mean when you say LARGE..?
|
I was I had that problem :)
|
I am incredibly indecisive about these things. I look for years for a piece of furniture. I struggle to overcome this, because I inevitably miss purchases that I go home to think about.

As long as you have the money in norisk situations, you can sleep well knowing if everything falls through tomorrow you can take that money and payoff your house. Make your money work for you. |
Exactly, I have enough money for the car Ive always wanted, but now I want to put it all towards a house. Once i have enough money for the house I'll probably want something more expensive or I'll just not want to part with it... :helpme

a big boat is my dream. I think it will take me a decade till i'll be able to afford one, but it's all good,im not that old.

It sounds like a good investment - even though housing prices are set to take a dive in most western countries it will only be temporary - if at all in your case - and over time it will only increase in value.

All I ever really buy that I dont need is TV's DVD players and computer stuff. Other than that... All my money is just going into investments and bank accounts. I havent even bought new cloths in like a year. Im a miser.

i love the freedom liquidity gives me, even if i'm not squeezing every single cent out of each dollar... and i HATE debt. |
Quiet, you should consult Micheal Jackson on this subject. Did you see that interview with him when he was in that art store in Vegas? He would look at some $20,000 piece of art for about 3 seconds and decide that he wanted it. Amazing.
|
not trying to be dr phil here but since 9/11 being right next to everything I changed the way I think before spending money.
Life is short you never know what will happen in a second from now. Not saying spend it all go crazy im saying dont be hard on yourself to much. |

Imagine all the hungry children in the world he could have fed with those purchases alone. That was the most disgusting display of greed I have ever saw. |

Hey Quiet, what do you prefer? Banff or Whistler? I've never been to Banff in winter. How do you think they compare?

It's located in an area where economic trends are not going to affect it's value for the foreseeable future - another definite positive. So where are the negatives? If there aren't any concrete ones but only phantoms then it's time to take a deep breath and pull out the check book :) |

Why else do we do this but to indulge our passions without having to worry about trivialities? I always use the rocking chair test - if you were sitting in your rocking chair as an old man, thinking about your life, how it had been and what you'd done - how would you feel if you had or hadn't done whatever you're trying to make up your mind about? |
Of all the things to spend your money on real estate is one of the safest, so far you have only listed positives, so what are some of the negatives that are holding you back? Just the sum of money involved? Like you said you probably will have plenty in reserve even after the purchase, and the likelihood that you wont be able to recover your initial investment is also much smaller with real estate than just about anything else.

I dunno how much you earn but I know you have some money. If there ever comes a time you need cash quickly - sell this place and make a tidy profit. Good luck :) |
