re: DNS servers on the same network

It's a problem when you go down, because no one can resolve any of your domain records. This is particularly important for email so that it is queued properly to be resent once the mail servers are reachable again. If a bunch of people try to send email to [email protected] right now (or any other sites on those DNS servers) then a portion of them will fail/bounce immediately, rather than being queued for periodic delivery retries.

haha, we get more than we pay for with Jupiter. Every host has problems from time to time.

Jupiter has been great to us and this is the very first time we have had any downtime in about 9 months.

:thumbsup

rockbear 01-06-2004 03:24 PM

JSA Matt You're right this is my first downtime in 6 month life with Jupiterhosting.

Jupiter still Rock:thumbsup

Keep your good work gang

This was a result of our fiber provider accidentally migrating gigabit fiber circuits incorrectly on our behalf. The issue has been resolved. We do not anticipate any future network disruptions or packet loss. All systems have returned to normal.
