Go read their Terms. All it takes is one complaint and they will hold your domain randsom.

100 dollars per spam complaint. 29 dollars charged to transfer the domain out (instead of paying 100).

Its funny I have never had a problem with them..

The only registrar I had a problem with is network solutions who wouldnt let me transfer a domain because it was expired by 1 day..

Instead of paying godaddy the 7 bucks I had to pay network solutions (renew) 70 bucks to get it back

With godaddy, you're guilty until proven innocent...

i host XXX different domains with them and a few months back i wanted to change the dns of one of them and this particular one got lost
nowhere to be found

and no... its not at any other registrar
its lost by godaddy

better go for quality!

I havent had a problem with godaddy at all ,
although I've heard of domains getting hijacked registered through them

We get our domains from Joker.com. Always have always will :)

yeh godaddy sux... I always use RegisterFly, they're great!

godaddy sucks balls, i just switched to joker.com and I like it way better.

I used to recommend them . They were easy to use and cheap . But they really jacked around alot of people i know. Go with directnic.

I'm with ya there. Directnic kicks ass.. never any problems at all with them. $15/year for a domain isn't bad and they won't fuck you over.

Godaddy rocks. With around 100 domains, I've had zero problems!

Essentially that means you have 100 more chances of losing 100 dollars.

Why you would give that power to anyone is beyond me when there are choices.

I have around 100 names with them, and never had a problem. I love their domains by proxy service, and 1-800 support is available 24 hours a day. I don?t do email marketing so maybe that is why I don?t have a problem with them.

I have friends who have had bad experience with them.

Godaddy are crooks. Get out while you can.

Post one of them here and I'll get it taken away from you in 24 hours.

I got a spam complaint with them and sorted the problem with
just one email.

Just read the terms and if you're willing to accept them.. fine.

Just remember AC and what they did.

Checkout how the wholesale domain market works. You'll quickly
see that Godaddy passes on domains at almost the same price
they buy them at. They DO NOT make money selling domains!
They make money on value added services and when their
customers don't buy enough extra services they just use their
terms to screw their customers out of domains.

If you want a domain, buy a domain, pay a price that the
company can actually profit on. Buying a domain from a company
that makes their money stealing domains from customers just
isn't smart.

I agree about Godaddy.. they have some really dumb motherfuckers answering tech support there.

You know.. the kind where you write a long email detailing what was wrong.. they obviously DON'T read it and tell you to do something you already said you tried in the email.

... then they kick it up a level and you wait 2 weeks for someone with a brain to get back to you.

I use http://www.namecheap.com exclusively now. 8.88, nice backend, and you can pay by paypal.

yes but normally who report the spam or anything like it don't provide any prove and to close or suspend a domain just because some one has reported he got an e-mail is funny.

namecheap is good, except they seem to take forever to change dns.

Never had a prob with godaddy.

I use OnlineNic.com last time with price $6.7 per domain name.

I've never had a problem with godaddy either, but all the complaints and horror stories are scaring me :helpme

I use GoDaddy. Only had one problem and it was promptly handled during a transfer from another registrar and one domain got lost in the process. They promptly found it and fixed the reg on it for me.

I also have a personal account manager there because of the size of my business I do with them so I get personal attention. That usually makes things much easier when you have a direct connection to someone who can take care of any probs for you instantly.

I'm a very satisfied customer with GoDaddy.

My account manager also gives me special extra discounts.

Unless you host 100 useless domains then go pay the 15 $ + or whatever . I use directnic and never had any problems
