FBI got subpoenas for some Las Vegas resorts in terrorist screening

The FBI used subpoenas to obtain guest lists at Las Vegas hotels prior to the New Year's Eve celebration.

Since the nation went to the high-level terrorism alert on Dec. 21, the FBI has been searching for terrorists by going over lists of those who have used truck and car rental agencies, airlines, hotels, and storage units in the Las Vegas Valley as well as Laughlin and St. George, Utah.

Most of the businesses freely handed over the records, but some would not do so without a subpoena.

A second U.S. government official said to his knowledge only one hotel had balked at providing its bookings list. Newsweek, the first to report the FBI demand, said one big hotel had refused and was "slapped with a subpoena."

While I understand the reasons behind asking for hotel records, Any clue which hotel balked and said no?

I could hazard a guess...

Naw.

The hotels should ask for a judge's opinion - no harm in that. That's how the U.S. justice system is supposed to work.

Imagine if the FBI could just run wild and do whatever they wanted without any checks and balances. That's not the principle that America was founded on.
