wow, what happened? that dude has always been OVERLY cool to me ...

Yeah he was anything but cool, he lied about the rooms and the Internet connection to start, then at the end of the month he handed me a 3000.00 USD. phone bill.

I went over the bill and it didn't seem right so i called the phone company and i found out he was charging me triple, so i told him to fuck off and i wasn't paying him nothing and he decided to lower the phone bill to what it should have been.

The guy's a scammer in my book and i will never stay there again

hmm, he never lied to me about anything ... yes the internet there is pricey, and yes it is cheaper per minute from a regular phone line in the country, but they have special equipment in the office (ive seen it)

... anyhow i wasnt there for what you experienced, but for me this guy was BEYOND cool ... i lost my phone in a taxi, called my phone to see where it was, recover it, the fuckers were jerking me off ... then went down to the office and he had my phone back to me in less than 2 hours.

I know Budapest as well if not Better than anyone here and you are totally correct that this place is the biggest ripoff in a City of people looking to rip people off.

I was very surprised about this comment. We are in the business for the last 10 years. We have excellent locations and you find more than 5 different locations in one house. You can use the location for accomodation as well.

I have had never complains about our business behavour. For us the client is the most important factor. If someone writes one of the demaging comments, he should give reason for it as well.

We have so many satisfied clients, that you just hear around in Budapest and you will get only good replies. I am financially so indepentant, that I would never take a dollar from the customer, if it would be agreed and the performance used by the guest.

So that is the situation and I trust the people that they will concider the source where it is comming from. For this comment I got 2 mails from clients to say to defend me and my business, because I helped than not only in business also personell thinks I was managing for them in order to feel good in Budapest.

And nevertheless I am not a hungarian guy - I am a German guy and I understand the complains that you get ripped of in Budapest if you are not aware. Its happened to me as well in the beginning and I will give all necessary advice to our guests, that they do not pay learning money.

We have contacts to model agencies and all what you need to get done your work successfully. I can give the names becouse we have photographers coming to us for the last four years on a regulary basis and I can give references to you If you still have doupt on our sourious intention to provide the best services and advices to our guests.

Of course I remember this guy, because he was calling approx. 6 hours to the states (USA) from our apartment !!!

How someone can be so stupid to call 360 minutes from a hotel to the states.


We have a price list and of course it is double so expensive than MATAV normal costs. Therefore a have 15 ISDN Lines, a digital switch board, an own computer system to get the call listed upon request of the guest and at any time. I have to pay the software program for the billing and the switching board every months . Monthly maintenance to the system as well . If I have guests who are using telefon or not I have to pay the costs every month! Compared to other hotels I have still reasonable telefon charges.

In the last 10 years I never had a guest who was so unprofessional in this matter.

After discussion I have given him the same rates than the local telefon company, because It was to stupid to me to discuss with him, specially he was not in"clear" pysical condition.

In addition to that I have released that the Internet connection with ISDN is to slow and costs to much for the guest. Therefore we have installed ADSL connection cable free - in the whole building to serve our guests in the best way. This systems runs on an own LINUX server. Another 20000 USD investment for the whole system plus the monthly maintenance cost.

Now I feel very sorry, that I was so fair to him to reduce the price. I do not like conflicts, but if I see the discussion now , I should have go into and at least to get the full telefon bill.

OneHung ... as i said before ... i stand to gain nothing by defending Peter, im just grateful for many things he has done for me, and when someone does right by me its in my nature to stick up for them ...

... keep in mind, his place is a HOTEL (i dont know of any hotel that does not monitor your phone calls and mark them up) ... go across the Duna and stay in the marriott and call the US ... youll be buttraped in the morning. The marriott tried to bill me about 100 Euros extra (im talking about having stayed there one night), i had to argue with them for 15 minutes and have 3 different invoices made before i couldnt find somewhere on the invoice that they were robbing me. And you certainly cannot film there.

At IAH the first thing i saw when i walked in the door the first time was a pricelist on the desk. I told the guy i needed to use internet a lot, and without any problem he lowered the cost.

Peter has brought me heaters when i bitched about being cold, told construction workers to shut the fuck up while i was filming, i cant even remember half the shit he has done for me in my years of dealing with him - hes not a native, he has advised me where to watch my ass, and hes definitely one of the people i would trust with my life there. Was this your first and only time in BP? If there is another place like this in BP where you can shoot, sleep, and get this kind of service, I would love to know about it.

Please realize i am in no way trying to get into a pissing match with you or dispute your experience, i just consider Peter a friend because of the several problems he solved for me simply because i was staying at his locations....

Hey Mikey...thats understandable, I'd do the same but we had different experiences dealing with peter

This is where i disagree, his place isn't a HOTEL, a hotel you get clean sheets when requested, fresh towels everyday, etc., etc. We got none of that...But that i can deal with, what i cant deal with is a phone bill which was already 900.00 marked up 300%.

He had the balls to hand me a 2500 phone bill when it should have been 900.00 :eek7

hmm, i dont know ... i remember the maids bringing me towels, tp, they only do the laundry if you put that thing on the door ... shit i just remembered something else ... i had a shoot scheduled for like 9am one day, called him at 8:30 and i told him i needed a huge fucking dresser moved, at 8:45 four guys were in there taking the thing apart for me!

I hear ya on your frustration, i think maybe i just communicated differently with him ... the internet and phone was expensive, so i asked him to lower net/min charges and he did ... and after all, he did lower the bill for you too ... there are some people who if you dont pay the bill, youll be at the bottom of the danube

simply communicate like an adult with peter and you will find he is one of the most reasonable people you will ever deal with. i dont know of anywhere else you can STAY and SHOOT ... and call the IAH staff with any little problem and have it solved within an hour.

I have always been very happy with them ... best of luck on your work and experience... by the way, watch out for taxi drivers ;)

finally we are back in Amsterdam from our ten day trip to Budapest. We worked with 19 models in these ten days, with all girls we did 4 sets each 200 pictures long. All shootings with one execption happend at the INAPHO apartments from Peter (www.inapho.com).

Here is me feedback to this discussion:

INAHPHO apartments and Peter are something of the best I ever experienced in my life so far; very good prices, very fair play all the time from Peter. I HARDLY RECOMMEND INAPHO TO EVERYBODY WHO WANTS THE BEST PLACE TO STAY AND ALSO AS LOCATIONS IN BUDAPEST.

Here are some examples:
- Phone Bill: 0.00 Euro - No joke
- We could move around in the whole house for a VERY cheap price from one apartment to the other.
- Great help with all questions like computer store, restaurants, cheap taxis etc.
- If we needed as example some blue bed sheets or furnitures, we got them 5 minutes after from the staff, they really fullfill every wish you can imagine.

We will stay from now on always at Peter's place - people who chooses hotels or other apartments loose definitely. I really do not understand the guy from the US who is surprised about his phone bill...
