How to accept credit cards on your site?
 

Can someone give out a basic outline of what all is needed to accept credit cards on your website?

Merchant account. Or use a 3rd party processor like ibill.com or ccbill.com.

So, signing up for a merchant account at 2checkout.com is all that is needed, and they take care of the rest?

merchant account you usually get through your bank,, or a company affiliate with your bank.. they are numbers. you then pass those numbers to a processor which uses them to route payments to your bankaccount.

2checkout is 3rd party

getting a merchant account for an adult site can be quite cumbersome, most just go with 3rd party processors like ccbill/verotel

first you have to pay tribute to the Visa Gods.

Then you must pay protection money to the mobsters at Acaca.
(don't want no busted bones do you?)

And finally last but not least, you must journey to Washington to
