freepassbucks.com email blocked by AOL?

i promote freepassbucks program and the conversions are pretty good.. recently i received the next emails from a surfer who use AOL:

Quote:

"I have followed the steps to get a free password and the system says it has mailed a message to me. I never get the e-mail and thus cannot activate the pass. The e-mail address I enter is valid and I have received mail there. What do I need to do differently? I have checked the active mailbox, the spam folder and the recently deleted folder. All are empty.

Thank you for your attention.

[email protected] "
Are the freepassbucks emails blocked by AOL or what's the problem?

i sugested to the surfer to make a free account on yahoo.com and use tha email to signup and after a day i received replies from him that even with yahoo mails he had many attemps failed.. here is the emails received from him:

Quote:

"I have a yahoo address: [email protected]. First I didn't get an e-mail. After several attempts I got an email subject "Request". I clicked on the link to activate and got a screen saying my screenname was approved and a "click here" button. I click there and the system displays a box asking for my screenname and password and reminding me I must activate using the e-mail. I cannot get out of this loop. Oh yes, the first time this box comes up it has my screenname as "nickname1~yahoo.com", not [email protected].

Toight I tried my nickname name again to no avail. I tried the nickname1 name and it says it is already registered but I cannot use it without activating it. Help!

[email protected] AKA [email protected]"
Quote:

"Another attempt failed. I created a new screenname [email protected] and tried to get the free pass. Again no e-mail. This is ridiculous! Help!"
Quote:

"The latest: I've been trying to activate my password. I followed your suggestion and created [email protected] This time I got an email subject "Request". I clicked on the link to activate and got a screen saying my screenname was approved and a "click here" button. I click there and the system displays a box asking for my screenname and password and reminding me I must activate using the e-mail. I cannot get out of this
loop. Oh yes, the first time this box comes up it has my screenname as
"nickname2~yahoo.com" , not "[email protected]". What am I doing
wrong and how do I get the process to work? "
So, what's happening? the emails from freepassbucks are blocked by AOL and YAHOO or what?

p.s. nickname,nickname1 and nickname2 are fictive bexouse i don't want post here the real emails of the surfer

welcome to the world of can-spam....as legit emailers are now required to mail direct, all the old filters are going to work and the big mail servers will be blocking LOADS of requested email....

that situation eventually will lead into our wonderful court system as well....

Freepassbucks has had problems getting their mail through many of the major email programs from day one. They didn't adequately plan for this hence their conversions are worse than their established competitors who already have deals in place with the major email programs to make sure their mail gets through. I wanted to get behind their program from the outset and have referred 50 webmasters to their program, but no matter how many traffic tests I do, they always convert three times as bad as their competitors. About 50% of the test signups I perform never get the confirm email to me to complete the signup.

i just signed up through a yahoo account to one of their sites and i did not get the confirmation email

Over the past several months AOL has been doing an awesome job protecting their customers from horseshit, bullshit, popups, trojans, redirects etc. Especially CJ sites.

It's a JOY to use AOL nowadays. The only reason emails aren't getting through is because AOL customers have been getting spam and can click a 'report spam' button on their email options. Once numerous customers click this button that company and it's proxies are blocked.

Sucks, but blame all the chiselling asswipe pornmeisters who think fucking people over is an axiom of business models.

Now if you don't fit into this category, try emailing AOL and explaining your situation. It could turn things around for you.

i'm waiting a response from a freepassbucks person.. it is true that yahoo and AOL block they emails? if yes can i write that on the page from where i promote freepassbucks programs and sugest to surfers to use others emails addreses?

any large mailer will have a filter on it from the big domains. freepassbucks is not the only one.

if you ever get a bounced email from a filter like SpamAssassin
then you know what not to put in the emails

Its getting very tough for even the legit mailers

Swanks 01-06-2004 01:55 AM

Yikes that sucks, more bullshit blocking it appears.

Cash 01-06-2004 02:27 AM

Have you tried posting this on their board to get a faster reply? If true, it sucks big time, it means less money for us in the end ...

Email programs were having problems before these spam laws...offer you surfers a free email signup somewhere else (somewhere you know wont block the email) This will increase conversions aswell as people wont have to use their personal or business email so they will be more willing to give it up

Rorschach 01-06-2004 02:37 AM

I remember boss hawg posting the other day that he was having problems with yahoo and aol, so it's probably not just a freepassbucks thing.

(although you should be collecting the emails yourself :Graucho )

Theo 01-06-2004 02:41 AM

AOL blocks many legit mailings very often, even mailers that exist on their whitelist

Hotmail is problematic as well.

bigdog 01-06-2004 05:36 AM

sad thing with the more email blocking the more spyware shit we will see to make up money

gin 01-06-2004 06:00 AM

yup aol has this new shit.. when a few aol members click "report spam" on the email ( even if they never even open the email just click report spam in the menu) they will block your domain from going into aol 100%.. they have blocked 4 of my paysite domains so far.. im going to have to call tomorrow.. this is the error.
