XP vs 2000
Is XP pro any better then 2000? Im thinking of switching as some newer adobe products only work on XP.
|
I never used 2000 but i can tell you that xp pro prolly is similar, easier to use and quite reliable. Its he best OS i used so far.
|
XP Pro has been very stable for me..I have heard a lot of negatives with 2000
|
XP is WAYYYYYYY Better! Make the change!:thumbsup
|
XP is nothing short of excellent, I couldn't recommend it more.
|
XP is the best Windows operating system yet. I think they finally got it together over there in Redmond.
|
I boot between 2000 Pro, Server, and XP Pro and only notice cosmetic differences. I have heard XP is better for gaming....
|
Fuck...it's really that good? Kinda wish I didnt format and reinstall 2000 a few days ago
|
Go with XP Pro. :thumbsup
|
yea def go with xp and if you want to have the old look and feel of win 2k there is a settings in the control pannel / system hit the advanced tab then hit proformance and select adjust to best performance then close that up and you got your self the old look you can also change up the start button with a check on the properties for that.

You're all Microsoft slaves.
|
XP is better, prettier, and more user friendly than 2000 which is more server oriented ( and sucky at that ).
|
I gotta admit, XP fucking sucks when you first install it...I had to get rid of the god damn bubble look right away, then tweaked the fuck out of it with some power tools program. It turned out to be the most stable fucking OS from Microsoft yet...I only have to reboot my computer about once a month. If something ever crashes, it just seems to recover somehow without needing to reboot. It's worth every penny.

very true... |
XP is much better than 2000 when it comes to connecting new hardware to the PC.
Haven't had any problems with devices which didn't want to work under 2000 on the same machine. And with XP... be sure that you have lots of RAM. |
depends on what you are doing ... 2000pro has been much better on my vid editing machine, XP was crap ... on my laptop 2000 is garbage.
both systems pretty stable, sort of depends on your system and needs. :2 cents: |
xp is a serious resource hog. but it does seem to be a tiny bit more stable, particularly more forgiving with drivers and bad files than 2000.
i had issues with 2000, that when it crashed, it _crashed_, and generally a reinstall was necessary. i installed the logitech mousware drivers one time, and my keyboard locked so i couldn't log into the machine.. lol. also, be wary of sp1 in 2000. it had issues that sometimes destroyed a file system, taking your files with it. if it's a slower machine, use 2000. |
Microsoft sheep

I find XP is great.
If you are editing video, then you NEED XP. I would also recommend to anyone using XP to regally update it on the Microsoft website. Lets face it, most new soft will be bult to be used on XP. |

XP is shit. Win2k Pro is the BOMB! i use 2k on all my video encoding machines and they've required less reboots than when i had XP on there and have been way more stable.
All depends on what ur looking to do |

Come on.. It's the same fucking code u morons.. It's just updated, more reliable and efficient. Go with the updated version.. WTF is this "geek war" between Win2k and WinXP. |
