I'm really starting to see a downward trend in my daily load of bullshit e-mails.

Anyone else notice this with theirs?

I dont know... ive been seeing a rise in the cheezy "free cable TV" and "banned CD" type spams. True though, less porn spam.

Noticed less porn related spam but still getting a hell of a lot of spam. :(

mine has been WAY down since Christmas Eve Day - surprised me, I expected it to be back at it's usualy 300-400 a day level again January 2nd but so far it's still way down.

Why is this? Can't just be spammers taking a long holiday season - is it the CAN-SPAM law going into effect as well?

My spam has quadrupled over the past 2 months.
1/3 of it is for cyalus.
I have no fucking clue what cyalus is.
1/3 has paris hilton written in it somewhere usually with intentional typo's.

I'm afraid that the volume will pick up once spammers find out that there's a 120 day grace period prescribed by law for the FTC to get its act together and issue regulations. There's a comment period after the proposed regs are featured in the Federal Register.

I'm running spamassassin on my mail servers, and it gets like 95% of the crap, and moves it into my spambox. Havent noticed the #'s going down though.

ehh, i dunno about that bro. i'm still getting hammered with this shit and i know with this new law they're suppose to have a
title that suggests that it's porn, but they sure as hell dont.

one thing i've noticed is that the cocksmokers check if you actually
opened the mail by inserting like a tiny invisible image that
forwards to a script that tracks which e-mails opened and
which didnt. the fucked up thing is that even if you try to delete
it, outlook opens the preview and they know you've opened
it so they spam you some more.

Thank god my ISP started labeling most of the spam so it's easy to filter out.
