Why are expensive clothes a pain in the ass to wash?
I just doesn't make sense... a $20 shirt can be washed at 60 degrees Celsius with aggressive detergent and dried in the dryer, while a $200 shirt has to be handwashed at 30 degrees Celsius with mild detergent, then put back into shape and laid out to dry.
What the fuck?! Aren't expensive thing supposed to be higher quality, and more resistant to abuse? What use is buying expensive clothes if they actually end up costing way more time to clean than cheap clothes. |
Fragile materials.

I fail to see why Boss cotton would be more fragile than brandless cotton.

They don't want you coming back to Nordstoms pitching a fit because the 110 dollar (100 percent cotton) Polo button down
faded, shrank or looks like every other 100 percent cotton shirt. Returns cost the company money. I just made that up. Maybe it's to make you feel like you bought something really special. Sidebar. My grandma worked in a factory in a small town for years. Her job was to sew the 'Izod aligators' on shirts. The same shirts that went out as plain lable or not designer and ended up at JC penny as their brand HuntClub. (at half the cost) |
I hate that too. You get a spot and you got to take it to the dry cleaners. Wool makes me itchy so I don't even buy clothes made out of it anymore.
I was just at the mall shopping and bought a couple Kenneth Cole dress slacks, Clairborne slacks and some Ralph Lauren Polo dress shirts. The Kenneth Cole slacks are microfiber and too me way more comfortable than wool. Everything is washable. And got discounts to boot, saving about $150 off the $400 regular price total. :Graucho |
Expensive clothes aren't hard to wash. I can wash my $12 t-shirts exactly the same as I do my $5 t-shirts...newbie.

If you're paying this much for clothes you should be able to dry clean
|
I hate that as well, just go a new shirt that has to be "hand washed and line dried" what a pain in the ass . . .

For sure! |
Who cares how hard it is to wash? That's what the maid is there for.

Dry cleaning them would take more time than doing it myself. No dry cleaners near here that I know of.
