Anyone visited Belarus ?
I wonder how's life there.
I read sometimes in the press about that country, but don't know the details. One thing is sure - the girls are very desperate there and are looking for foreigners. You may be making only $500 from your porn job, but if you go there, you'll still be able to live like a pimp for two weeks. But girls may be not the only reason. North Koreas is rather dangerous, China will soon become more american than the US and Cuba is probably a joke now. So if you want go back to the past, you have to go to Belarus. Any GFY'er been there? |
come on, you won't live like a pimp with $500 there.. relax

In case you ask yourself: "wtf he is talking about".....this may help a little:

Life is hard there. It is just like Russia.
You can't drink the water because its dirty. Many times the electricity is out. Many times there is no hot water. Sure, just like Russian girls, the girls in Belarus are whores also. Well, its not all bad, at least beer and vodka are cheap. :glugglug |
Yeah, maybe $100, like in Russia and Ukraine.
1st. City. The bigger city - the higher prices. 2nd. Organisation you working in - commercial company or state institution. If second - then the salary sucks even more :) You gotta see it yourself, it's hard to explain. But you won't live like a pimp with $500 2 weeks there. You want to go to some nice bar, u'll drink and eat some stuff, you'll leave there like $10-15. Your apartment. If it's good, it's $20-40 per 24 hrs. Try to count. ;) |

Rusia is developing, Belarus rather not. Russia is becoming a democratic country, Belarus not. |

There is little difference between Putin and Lukashenko, both control the media and any semblance of independant criticism of their governments. I am sure the police arbitrarily stop people on the streets of Minsk, just as in Moscow. I have not been to Poland, but I have heard it is light years better than Russia or Belarus. |

But Lukashenko said few months ago that he invites Saddam Hussein to his country ( or something like that ).
And now he decided to spend more money on the army, because he's afraid of an american attack. :1orglaugh At least all the opinions I've heard and read showed him as Europe's last dictator. |

I always cheer on the Belarus teams during the Olympics. They are such underdogs.

Putin is really regretting the whole Russia/Belorus union because this guy is such a loose cannon and so out of control. |
I used to live in Grodno, Belarus and moved to USA when i was 10, (11 years ago), I remember life being very simple and lots of poor people, but i don't know how things are there now. I'd be curious to go back there one day to see how things are, the girls, etc

cheap life in belarus - not anymore. at least in the capital, Minsk. decent 3-room aparts in a good district are $350+/mo
dirty water - yep, but better than in russia or ukraine electricity out - BS, more stable than in most western countries insane president - yep, very true in general: expensive for tourists comparing with other exUSSR states, Minsk looks better than most of other post-soviet cities |

With a few hundred bucks life can be good for a while in those former USSR countries.
But most people still live under terrible conditions there... |

I lived several months in Poland (Warsaw) and I tell you only one thing - you must be crazy to move from Poland to any of these countries (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus). I would not change Warsaw even for richest places like Moskow, Kiev or Minsk. The quality of life sucks there comparing to Warsaw. Though you cannot see such a shining casinos in Warsaw as you can see in Moskow and a number of mersedeses and BMW you can see in Warsaw is essentially lower than you can see even in Kiev, but trust me - it means nothing. Life is shit there for 98% of people.
