join4free emails

Hey anyone notice that the email join4free sends out now has the words
-ADLT- in the subject line. It seems that it will be real easy for the isp's to filter out

i wouldnt know, im not really double opted into any program. i would think they are doing that due to the can spam act, but also, seein these are double opts and you have the persons permission to email them all ready, i dont see why they would risk hittin the filters.

that's smart of them, I would prefer to loose some deliverability and stay 100% legit, those issues of deliverabilyt and filters will be worked out legally, but best to be on the right side of the law when pushing those issues....

good on them...

i think that's the law in some states - not sure of the url now, i'll try and dig it out, but it listed the spamming laws of each state.

how is that the law when these people have double opted in? they agreed to the t.o.s. of the site that clearly states they are going to use email as a form of marketing. you cant make a law saying i have to have this in my subject if im emailing my members.

Why can't they make a law like that?

they can make laws for virtually anything...
no where in the constitution does it gurantee you the right to email whatever you want because they opted-in.

those who are curious, this is a line in WEG's terms:
"6. All e-mail transmissions must set forth language in the body and both the ?from? line as well as the ?re:? line that clearly announces that the e-mail is being sent by you for your benefit or for the benefit of your users, and a clear and conspicuous identification that any e-mail message is an advertisement or solicitation."
