In any large company (even in America) there are a certain percentage of people who will steal ideas, knowledge, etc for their own benefit. I don't mind our employees going off and working for their own. They can do what they want with their own time. It is when they use our computers, bandwidth, servers, and our clients time to do other people's work is when it bothers me.

It is the same as working at a department store and stealing. Say you were the owner of Sears and you caught one of your employees stealing a hammer from the hardware section. Would you let him come back to work the next day? The answer is no, he would be fired immediately.
