What the Hell is wrong with this world
 

In light of the coming year 2004 I would like to share some thoughts on the world development.


The 90's started great. The cold war ended, South Africa came to their senses and stopped that rasism bullshit, Israel and the Arabic world nearly achived peace untill in 95 Yitzhak Rabin was killed and all started over.
The economy was rising to an alltime high and the world actually was really confortable to live in as many countries were doing a lot to save the environment.

Let's take a look how it is today:

- A stupid war on terrorism that achives nothing but to drag the world economy down. I at least don't feel one bit safer then a year ago.

- More wars and problems all over the world.

- 3rd world countries get poorer due to the globalisation needs of a view.

- People are loosing more and more of their freedom.

- The environment gets destroyed in an increased rate. Our planet needs about 15 month now to replace as many resources humanity uses in 1 year.

- Greed seems to be more important to people than common sense and it seems no country is able to look beyond their national interests.

As you can see I am not referring to any country or nationality as any of our countries and in fact any of us has to deal with what is going wrong.

I for myself think the world is definatlely a worse place than 10 years ago and I don't like the way the world is moving.

It come and goes as history always does, there was plenty bad going on back then and there is now, this too will come and go. But thank god or whoever the fuck you believe in that George Bush can't be president 3 times.

10 years ago, people thought the same thing. And 10 years before that. And so on...

All you can do is make sure *you're* doing things right, you raise your kids right, and you vote each and every time you get the chance - and/or run for public office and try to make a difference that way.

In agree with most what you said and I will have to analyze that in my paper for my masters degree...but now I am at GFY and don't wanna talk about this deeper :winkwink:

There is only one thing wrong with the world...people. Don't worry though, I think they are working on getting rid of themselves to make the world a better place :2 cents:

I agree with that! I remember hearing my grandparents fretting over inflation, Watergate, the Black Panthers. I remember sitting in gas lines and seeing gas at a whopping 79 cents a gallon. I remember reading newsweek every week and seeing the fullblown pictures of the Jim Jones tragedy. Conversations and worry and headlines, just like today.

I have come to realize that since history repeats and trends recycle, the best we can do exactly what Carrie said.

Besides, the media is telling you all the bad. What about the dad who gets up, goes to work, comes home, plays with his kids, watches tv and goes to sleep. Then wakes up and does it again and again. Millions of good and normal things happen everyday without headlines.

Yes, and thank GOD for the two term policy! Happy days will be here again, sometime. (in that regard)

Shit happens, the human race has always sucked and always will. 'Bout the only thing you can do is claw your way to the top of the shit pile and enjoy the view (and the cars, houses, pools, food, and women.)

This attitude is exactly what is wrong with the world!
