just bought this with a gift certificate from xmas. my favorite graphic novel of all time (sandman's come in at a close second). (i have the originals in storage in some other city)

im so out of the comic book scene now though. what should i pick up in trade paper back?

I'm pretty much out of the loop with comics these days too, but you should check out Sincity by Frank Miller, and the first series of Give Me Liberty by Frank Miller and Dave Gibbons (he's the man!), if you haven't seem them already.

Alan Moore (one of my fave writers ever) also did a thing not too long ago called "Snakes and Ladders," which is worth having a look at, it's quite different from his other stuff but has that same dark appeal.
