as a a joke of course :glugglug your thread title is far from reality, this means you are not familiar with the whole can-spam law, spammers etc spam will increase now. So far the only can-spam compatible email i'm receiving comes from from join4free. (i opted some months ago to monitor the marketing strategies of big mail sponsors). Normally join4free shouldn't flag their titles as -ADLT- since it's a 2ble optin mailing. Spammers haven't started following the law and i doubt if they plan. |
u got to remember because they passed that do not call list which basically killed any type of phone marketing the bigger companys like att ect are going to get there word out one way or another and the next mass medium to get there word out to people is spam.
|
i read somewhere the other day some people created there own little country somewhere in the middle of fucking nowhere, jumped through all the hoops, just to have there own spamming heaven. it was kinda crazy
|
It will just move offshore...
People outside the US will make all the money.. and the US will lose out on alot of tax revenues... Media |

If you think spam is coming to an end just from a USA Today poll you really should find another line of work.
If USA Today asked people if they look at porn and 86% said no would you think the porn biz was coming to an end? Have you heard of the can-spam law? Bueller? Bueller? |
maybe a spam license system.. so not every fuckhead and his dog is spamming the same shite everywhere.

Too many countries and too many different laws...sorry USA you cant police the internet only your own people
|
Unless there is some bulletproof new technology, spam is not going away any time soon. It will just move offshore. All CAN SPAM does is rein in LEGIT bulkers.

Spam will never die.
It doesnt even have a shelf life |
I'm sure there are law makers who really do believe that if they pass a law on the net that, "Those boys downstairs in the computer lab can flip some switches and shut off the porn and spam."
|
I sure hope it does..
there's always filtering..:Graucho |
It won't :stop , that's BS!
|
SPAM will never die. It will be reduced and there will be people going to jail / having to declare bankruptcy but spam...the crime.. will never die.
The same way all these anti-drug laws put people in prison to be ass raped but the crime still exists and is thriving. |
Long Live Spam! :thumbsup
|
To say spam will go away is just ignorant. Spam will never go away, people on both sides of the line are making money. Large corporations are making money and now trying to monopolize all of this. Sure spamming will be harder and it may eliminate some mailers but your not going to see it completely eliminated. So called higher organizations wont let that happen and ill gurantee that. Be prepared to see ALOT more spam in 2004..
|
yes
|
spam will never day
we gotto live with that |
In essence, I agree. Like any other activity that is being regulated...it will probably be minimized but it won't entirely go away.

90% of the Internet's spam comes from Boca Raton Florida. Spamhaus have
nailed down that most spam comes from a list of 200 people they have identified. The spam groups work together and have created pretty much what we all see today in our inboxes. Have you noticed since Dec.31.2003 that spam has diminished to a degree? You can thank the CAN-SPAM Act 2003 for that. It has sent a tidal wave of effect on those large spammers and they are forced now to use servers in China. Pretty much all the methods they have used for years are no longer "legal" and if abused they will be prosecuted. You can thank spamhaus.org for their relentless effort to quell this collection of parasites and to [at the very least] kill a large majority of the spam we have been seeing for years. http://www.spamhaus.org Fake opt-out links and many other methods are now prosecutable and it has put a good deal of fear into those fuckers. What to see something funny? Alan Ralsky has been named as the largest spammer on the Web. All the money this pig makes and this is the best he can physically look? About 1.5 million dollars and 3 good plastic surgeons could at least make him not look like a corpse. (photo at bottom of page). http://www.spamhaus.org/rokso/evidence.lasso |
