What is the average length (word count)?

Would it make better sense to measure in characters?

I'd say 30-70 characters.

The ones I use for my sites are usually 4-8 words.

So if we write them around 40, this should be most useful to the majority of webmasters?

I normally write these custom for clients but I'd like to create a pool that everyone could use. So everybody's feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Yup just depends on the content. There's only so much you can say about a "Blonde amateur stripping." Then you get the occasional "Pregnant lesbian midgets covering eachother in grape jelly."

There's ways to tease a click out of the Blonde Description...

As for the midgets...usually the longer the descrip the better.

A hosted gallery description pool would be awesome - any idea when it would be available? Any chance of getting preview thumbs too ;)

PReview Thumbs, that would be awesome. Multiple sizes too.

Preview thumbs... hmmm that's a good idea. Problem I see is that it would have to be multiple crops per FHG or else webmasters would end up with the same thumb crops.

Maybe offer just a standard thumb for the pool and if anybody wants unique stuff- they can buy custom thumbs from you separately.

No, its not. There's quite a range of thumb sizes that TGPs require cuz of the way their pages are laid out.

ive seen 120 x 120 before they look pretty eye catching

I'm doing gallery descriptions at the moment. I use from 3 to 5 words most of the time. It's probably the most boring thing I can imagine. I've done almost 3000 and I have another 10k or so left...

I have to agree. Writing these out are pretty boring. Ripping them from other sites suck cuz they don't apply or are not FHGs or do not convert.

Some TGP`s have minimum text at 40 BUT other TGP`s have maximum at 50 so it´s hard.... Do description at 45 and it will be good.
