How long should it take to GAIN 15lb of muscle.
I decided that I have to PUT ON weight again. I was 215lb in the summer (bit of muscle and a bit of fat ,,,, not really ripped). Now im 165 and ALMOST have abs.
I feel too small (not in my pants) and wanna put on some weight. Im gonna go some some whey shakes and take in more carbs but was just wondering how long this will take? 3 months enough time ? I go to the gym almost everyday for bout 1-2 hrs. (half of the time is on the treadmill) |
You won't put on much weight on the treadmill :)
For every person it's different. Eat well and train hard, that is about all I can say with the information you have given. |
Cut the treadmill down to just a 10 minute warm up and MAYBE a 10 minute cool down. You would probably do better spending the last 10 minutes stretching. Up your protein intake and start hitting the weights heavier at mid range reps 8 to 12.

according to statistics I read in men's health magazine, the beginning weight lifter puts on 8-10 pounds of muscle in the first 4 weeks of lifting weights (once every two or three days).
Hope that helps. |
how long would it take to ad 1 LB to your balls ?

My favorite is this stuff for the pounds http://www.enkueros.net/79973000270.html how long to put on the mass depends on you. Have a shake with each meal you have the pounds you need. |
Check out Anthony Ellis and his program at

dont do much cardio if you want to put it on
|
yeah pretty much if you want it fast only drugs will do the trick, natrually 12 months and thats with a good food plan and serious workouts.

Za Ha, how did you go from 215lbs to 165lbs within 6 months? For me, I went from about 220lbs to about 175lbs in about a year, but I was working out daily, lots of cardio, eating very very little Drinking metaform HEAT and lots of water.

Join the Army - I gained 31 pounds in 8 weeks :thumbsup

----------------------------------------------- I dont wanna cut down the treadmill time too much cause I want abs and a ripped look. If I just do a lot of protein/whey shakes + a lot of food and heavy weights, the muscles will not have a ripped look. They will look watery. Quote:
So mostly I just ate less and took hydroxycut, it worked like a fuckin charm. :thumbsup |
Atkins diet?
To get muscle mass, just work out/toning exercise ought to do it. |
Hey,
In all honesty my experience has been that to put on lean muscle mass, carido does not fit into the routine. I like the previously mentioned method of having a 10 minute warm and cool down. Lift heavy and hard. one warm up set and 3 work sets. warm up set of 12 - 15 reps. work sets 6 - 10 maybe 6 -8 so the last rep needs a spot. To stay lean while you try to gain muscle, increase protein and eat numerous times thru the day. Unfortunately the best weigh to gain muscle is to eat like a pig and train heavy and then shed the fat. It is very hard to go lean, and put on muscle weight. Hence guys like lee priest weighing some 300 pounds in the off season at 5 foot 4 and leaning down to 230 for competition. Good Luck though! |
It took me a few moths to put on a few pounds of muscle with proper eating and training.
But I can put on about 5 pounds of muscle in 30 seconds if I have the right girl in front of me.:thumbsup |
I gained 15 pounds of muscle in my penis overnight.
|
it really depends on your body type and how much you workout...
and if you use roids or not, of course |
With some roids, it can be done in no time. Of course, you may have more of a temper...
|
depends on too many things

how much did you gain in 12 weeks? |
Try asking this on the Swole board.
www.swoleboard.com You'll find several GFYers there and some good advice. :thumbsup |
I gained 15lbs from drinking beer and eating taco bell and jack n the box every day.. I was shocked to find out at my last doctors appointment.. I could stand to gain another 15lbs..
I guess if you don't worry, you gain some weight.. |
having the ripped lean look and putting on muscle are two opposite things. For the ripped lean look all you have to do is lower your body-fat %, this requires proper diet and cardio so that your body starts to burn off your fat, but dont over do the diet or your body will burn muscle instead.
If you want to gain muscle your body needs to have enough nutrients to actually build muscle out of, after all muscle isnt made of thin-air, so you need to increase your diet, eat a bit more, get enough protein, and cut down on your cardio, otherwise all of the nutrients you need to build muscle you will be burning doing cardio. I think the best way you will get the results you want is to focus on weight lifting for about a 3 month period, stop doing so much cardio, if you eat right, the weight that you will put on will be muscle. After 3 months you should see a huge improvement in your muscle structure, at that point you can continue to bulk up, or once again go back to the high cardio work outs to tone up get lean and ripped. But trying to achieve both the ripped look and building muscle at the same time is very difficult and counter productive to each other. |
15-20 lbs of lean should take 6 weeks if you work at it.. cant just lift weights though.. buy the high protein weight gainer from GNC.. but remember to work out and do cardios also or that weight gainer will not turn to muscle..
|
like the guy above me said though.. not alot of cardio.. just a relaxed ride on the stationary bike after your work out..
|
Every time I screw my wife, she gains 15 pounds of muscle, but it's only temporary :thumbsup

Eat lots of carbs and do moderate workouts...you'll get lean mass but more muscle.
|
eat well, work out, and drink ensure+.
I'm up 10lbs in about a month. |
It all depends on your basic physiology as to how fast you will grow muscle.
Following that is diet and training. Big muscles means proper form and heavy weights, low reps. Diet is proper protein and low fatty foods and sugars and starches etc. Some people build muscle slow. Yet there are several gradients to 'quality' muscle. That's muscle that can handle the weight and maximize nutrients and repair. Meaning you might be 180lbs of good quality muscle and can bench 300. Yet a dude at 250 might only be able to max out at 250. I'm lucky I have quality muscle. It's fucking scary dude. I'm going for a minimum bench of 600lbs this year and I know I can do it but I won't be shaking hands cause one time I did and was only benching 225 at the time and damn near tore the dude's arm off. My last bench was 425 and I was tossing that shit in the air like a doll and people hauled ass outta the gym. I laid off the weights and now am at 325lbs. bench. I'm lucky that in my family we build muscle FAST. It's freaking scary. I can put on 5lbs or more of muscle a month but that comes from diet and proper heavy lifting. It's just the way I'm built. I used to get so big and strong I couldn't sleep right in a bed. Would tear doors off the hinges. You've got to experiment, follow your doctor's orders and get the tips from the pros and finally, NEVER take drugs. It builds non-optimum mass and can damage other organs. It all starts with structure, your bones and ligaments need to be strong enough to take the punishment. Too much cardio won't allow the muscle to repair itself and grow. So try a variety of food sources for protein and see what works for you. On an average if you do everything right you'll put on a minimum of 1lb of muscle a month. So that means that if your physiology dictates it you may make higher gains yet these can sometimes go up and down i.e. 1-2lbs one month, 1lb next month, 2lbs following month. The body regulates what needs what first and it should send repair and nutrients to bones, tendons and ligaments first so that the muscle has a good foundation to build on. Lessens tears and sprains so remember to get that proper lifting form in first and foremost and you should have a fine time growing. |
