Help! Missing d: drive?!
I noticed that my d: drive wasn't working so I opened up device manager to check the status. It says: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" I tried uninstalling the drive and reinstalling but that doesn't help. And I can't use the Windows XP disk because the drive won't read anything. Anybody familiar with this? Any idea what happened and what I can do to fix it?

open the device manager and try to reinstall your "IDE ATA/ATAPI controller" drivers.
You could first try right clicking on "IDE ATA/ATAPI controller" and goto "Scan for hardware changes" |
