What the fuck is up with IE?

It's trying to save pictures at bmps instead of jpgs or whatever, and it won't give me any other option. I don't use it that often, but WHAT THE FUCK is going on? Anyone familiar with this?

Roger 01-01-2004 08:57 AM

heuh? You mean it won't let you save them in JPG?

AdultNex 01-01-2004 08:58 AM

Delete your Temporary Internet Files and refresh the page.

How do I do that? I DO NOT use IE. I use Mozilla most of the time and avoid IE like the plague.

Tools -> Internet Options

General Tab -> Temporary Internet Files -> Delete Files

Check Delete All Offline Content -> OK

May take awhile.

Mr. Mojo Risin 01-01-2004 09:05 AM

Naw I use IE when I have to save things because it saves the files as a .jpg instead of a .JPEG like Mozilla :)

If you click on Settings, you can set how much max. space you allow the comp to use for temp internet files.

If you want to save a file as a different format use quotes around the name and specify the proper extension..

eg. "filename.jpg"

That makes it save as a jpg and not the default, if def is bmp.

LadyMischief 01-01-2004 09:19 AM

Thanks folks it's all better now :)

hershie 01-01-2004 09:26 AM

I had the same issue and eventually just gave up using IE after numerous hissy fits. Another wierd one was not being able to View---->Page Source.

Rorschach 01-01-2004 09:35 AM

The one browser to rule them all.

Opera is ok, but I find Mozilla faster.
