I would rather lose fighting than roll over and let them start doing checkpoints for 'suspicious activity' or 'drug paraphenalia' or whatever they make up.

Oracle Porn 01-01-2004 10:10 AM

You seriously don't have DWI spotchecks where you live? They are just expected around here. They give you a nice little ribbon if you drive through one and you aren't plastered.

That's not the point..it's already been ruled that it's constitutional:

Quote:

With respect to federal law, it is significant to note that the United States Supreme Court in Michigan Department of State Police v. Sitz (1990) upheld the constitutionality of sobriety checkpoints concluding that the degree of intrusion upon individual motorists who are briefly stopped, weigh in favor of the state?s interest in preventing drunk driving. Although sobriety checkpoints are viewed as constitutional on federal grounds, whether sobriety checkpoints are allowed at all depends upon the individual laws and constitutions in each state.

Nothing has taken away more rights and shit on the constitution than the insane rights grabbing done in the name of the "war on drugs" by the leaders of this country. They essentially wiped their ass with the constitution to justify destroying the 4th amendment. :321GFY

Yeah --

god damn those MADD soccer moms for taking away my right to get falling down drunk and hop into a 2000lb steel box and hurl myself at other objects at recklessly high speeds.

Well I may have exaggerated a bit when I said totally shitfaced. hehe.

From what I hear they only have them around here at about 8 in the evening as a scare tactic. It was just the topic of discussion before I drove home. They play commercials on the radio several times an hour talking about the checkpoints. You know how women are(Mutt, and yeah I'll see her again) they try to look out for you unlike your friends who will let you drive home too drunk to see the middle line.

Not as far as I have run into.. I would really laugh to see them try it in North Idaho where I used to live. I guarantee someone would get shot..
